Overview of your Syracuse tour
A short trip just outside of Syracuse to explore the suggestive tombs of the prehistoric village of Thapsos and a relaxing walk in the little Nature Reseve of "Saline di Priolo" where we will admire flamingos and other birds that enjoy to stay in this wetland, just near the sea. I really invite you to do this tour because in hal a day you go outside of the town and just with a local guide like me you can see hidden spots of this beautiful land, a mix of nature, archeology and history. I look forward to take you on tour in a not very toursistic places like that but more authentic then other places better known then this!
Your Syracuse tour itinerary
- Pick up in Syracuse - Visit of the Peninsula of Thapsos where there was a prehistoric village in the 2nd millenium b. C. We will admire hundreds of prehistoric tombs excavated in the limestone and the remains of the hut's village - Visit of the Nature Reserve of "Saline di Priolo". Thanks to the marsh area there was a former saltpan and now it's like a hotel for birds that enjoy to stop here in their long migration travel from Africa to the North Europe and vice versa. Among the others we will see flamingos, herons, ducks, etc. - It's also possible to swim in the sea in front of the Nature Reserve The total excursion will last about 3 or max 4 hours
