HI, I am Emilia. I'm a licensed tour guide in Sicily. I began building up my experience in this field 8 years ago. It all started when I realized that I really love the place where I live, and showing it to visitors gives me a lot of joy and a sense of accomplishment. That's why it became my full time job. I have always been interested in history , ancient civilizations and all aspects of past cultures. One of my favorite subjects at school was Latin. Then I graduated in Italian philology and literature because it forms a part of my interest as well, since our language and culture have origins in the Greek and Roman worlds. In Sicily we cannot avoid talking about Greek and Roman footprints. You can still feel the presence of ancient rulers here… What makes Sicily unique is the wide variety of places to see and things to do. You can have an unforgettable experience visiting a baroque church or …pastry shop! Local food is another reason why I feel so much attached to my land ;) University degree in Italian philology I am not a professional driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Visiting the Archeological Park, which is our first step, will be like going back in time. You will feel the atmosphere of ancient times thanks to important Greek and Roman monuments and stories of some interesting characters linked with this place. You will have a chance to sit on the steps of the Greek theatre and to enter the Ear of Dionysius, an impressive large cave made by ancient Greeks. Our second step will be Ortigia island, a magic place rich in history, art and traditions. Join me and discover these beautiful places!
Our family had a very nice time with Emilia. We explored the old Archeological Park as well as Ortigia. We had a large group of nine, including two children and an infant, so we were a challenging group to be sure. Emilia was very patient, and still managed to enthrall us with the history & architectural splendor of the sites. Thank you!
It was easy to coordinate our tour with Emelia. She met us promptly at the dock and had transportation coordinated to our different destinations- Archeological Garden, Roman Amphitheater, Athena Temple. She was knowledgeable of the different historic sites we visited. She was helpful in helping us find items we wanted to bring back home to Hawaii. I would highly recommend her.
Wonderful tour with Emilia. The walk was easy. Some of the areas were closed recently due to falling rocks which prevented us from entering certain areas. Overall Emilia was knowledgeable, on time and very friendly.
Emelia was very informative and really made the history come alive. In fact while we were in Syracusa at the archeological site, a man came up to her and said was all there to see but a pile of rocks. Well with her knowledge we learned so much about this historic site that we never would have known just by looking at it. Highly recommend!

1. Archaeological Park Neapolis - We will see the Greek Theatre, Altar of Hieron II, the Ear of Dionysius, Roman Amphitheatre. 2. Ortigia - We will have a stroll through the labyrinth of narrow ancient streets; we will see there among others the ruins of Apollo Temple, the main square with the Cathedral that was built over an ancient temple dedicated to the goddess Athena and the Font of Arethusa, a picturesque place linked to a myth narrated by Ovid.
