Syracuse is not just Ortigia and Neapolis but there are many other places full of unknown monuments, breathtaking views and stories to tell. We will start this bike ride from the Convent of Cappuchin and we will enter in a former railway line that has become a beautiful bike road in 2008, extended 6, 6 km so that in total we will ride about 14 km. The cliff in this part of the town is very impressive and there are many sea caves We will do some stop to visit monuments from any age such as stone quarry, a little abandoned Station, defensive walls of the ancient town, an ex tuna factory, the gulf where the Greeks had built the port of Trogylo, the Byzantine Oratory of Sanit Panagia, the trenches of World War II and if you want you can also have a swim in the clear sea. We will also have the opportunity to discover local myths and legends like that of the Rock called "Two Brothers".
This tour is a bike round-trip of about 14 km with some detour on foot. We can meet directly at the starting point of the bike ride in front of the Convent of Capucchin. During the ride we will admire: - Convent of Cappuchin - Ancient stone quarry - Greek difensive walls - Trinches of Worl War II - Monument of the Falle Italians in Africa - ex Tonnara (tuna factory) - Byzantine Oratory of Saint Panagia - Sea caves and Cliff You will also have the opportunity to have a swim if you wish! Notes: Upon request, I can take you anywhere in Syracuse. The floor of the road is in gravel.
