Hi all, I would like to give you some information about myself and my work experience. My name is Elisa and I am 35 years old. I am a freelance tourist guide with a professional license for the Region of Sicily. The experience I have gained from my formal studies at high school and then at university ( BA and Masters) and the strong interest I had and continue to have for humanities, helped me to develop an ability to communicate historical, architectonical and archeological knowledge with enthusiasm. Two years abroad (in Germany) and my extensive traveling experiences, have offered me opportunities to adapt to new environments and new cultures. I have learned how important it is to be flexible and make use of my own resources. My work experience over the past 15 years (during which I have planned and managed my time to achieve a good balance between my studies and my work experiences with groups of travelers coming from all over the world, enabled me to develop my leadership skills and increased my awareness of the dynamics of tourism. I definitely love my job and passion makes always the difference! Guided walking tour of Noto, UNESCO world heritage town, the capital of Sicilian Baroque! Starting from the impressive gateway 'Porta Reale', you will go through the main street, corso Vittorio Emanuele, lined with stunning religious buildings of great, original beauty. While strolling ahead, you'll have the feeling of being suspended between past and present. You will easily reach the main square, overlooked by the city hall, the 18th century Palazzo Ducezio and by the Cathedral, the finest example of Sicilian baroque. Its massive dome collapsed in 1996 and was rebuilt again in 2007. The result of the reconstruction works is outstanding! The tour includes Noto 'must- see' attraction: the famous Palazzo Nicolaci, remarkable for its beautiful balconies richly carved with elegant grotesque figures. The Nicolaci street is the setting for the flower festival "Infiorata", taking place the third weekend of May. On that occasion crowds of visitors fill the streets, creating a lively atmosphere in town.
While doing the tour we will see the highlights of Noto: -Porta Reale ( Royal Gateway) - Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the main street - church of St. Francis from Assisi -St. Chiara's church -St. Saviour's church ( Chiesa del SS. Salvatore) -St. Saviour convent ( monastero del Santissimo Salvatore) -Cathedral -City hall - Palazzo Ducezio - Jesuit college - Chiesa di San Carlo Borromeo ( Jesuit church) -Palazzo Nicolaci -Piazza XXVI Maggio -St. Dominic's church -civic theatre And if you want I am happy to customize the tour for you.
