You can choose a light hike along scenic trails with stunning views, or a comfortable drive with stops at key volcanic sites like ancient craters, lava fields, and unique formations. ➤ Pick-up in Syracuse (Morning) You’ll be picked up directly from your accommodation in Syracuse by a driver. I’ll join you as your guide for the day. ➤ Drive to Mount Etna – Southern Slope We’ll head to the southern side of Etna, gradually ascending while enjoying changing landscapes from green vegetation to ancient lava fields. ➤ Arrival at 1,900 meters Our main stop is at Rifugio Sapienza, about 1,900 meters above sea level. ➤ Visit to the Silvestri Craters We’ll explore the Silvestri Craters, formed in 1892. You can walk around the crater rims and enjoy stunning volcanic views. ➤ Additional Points of Interest Depending on your preferences and timing, we can visit other sites like lava flows, volcanic formations, or take a short panoramic walk. ➤ Optional Wine and Food Tasting Stop On the way back, we can stop at a local winery for a wine and food tasting experience (subject to availability). ➤ Return to Syracuse (Afternoon/Evening) After a day on Etna, we’ll return comfortably to Syracuse.
