In the centre of Sicily: Enna, Rocky Village of Canalotto and the Lake of Pergusa

I recommend this tour if you want to know better this beautiful island, its history and its traditions. The area of Enna has been lived since prehistoric age because of its natural fortress'hills. Here the Greeks built the first temple dedicated to Demeter, the Goddess of grain and fertility. Until now the fields around Enna are planted with grains and cereals. The Lake of Pergusa is instead a nature reserve where the migrants birds step over in different periods of the year but it also also a place full of magic due to the myth of Ares that here kidnapped Persephone (the daughter of Demeter) and brought her to the underworld. In the Byzantine Village of Canalotto we will see how people in byzantine age carved out their home directly from limestone, a place unique for the mix of history and nature with the fresh forest. And then in Enna we will see also the medieval castle and beautiful churches to have a complete view of this unique corner of Sicily!

I take you wherever you want near Syracuse or Catania and in about 1 hour we will arrive in the first attraction of the journey.
