Hello! My name is Fabrizio, I am a Roman native but have been living in Tuscany for the past 25 years. Even though my original academic background is in business administration, I went back to University to learn about ancient history and am currently enrolled in post-graduate studies as an archaeologist. This has given me the chance to visit and learn about places and spots off the beaten track which I am happy to share in turn with my visitors, especially those requesting personalized tours. I have been working as a licensed tour guide for the past ten years now and I find particularly challenging and rewarding the idea of introducing foreign visitors to Italian culture and heritage under all its aspects: history, food, craftsmanship and other aspects which might intrigue the intelligent and discriminate traveler. I do speak fluent English as I spent considerable time in Canada as teenager, and am looking forward to guide you through exciting places such as Florence - the cradle of the Renaissance or Arezzo, a lesser known Tuscan city-of-art or "città d'arte". When I was 25 I lived for a period in beautiful Venice, as at the time I was serving in the army as a First Lieutenant of the Carabinieri (Military Police). During my free time from service I would often explore the city, a history book in my hand, in long solitary walks and that's how I fell in love with her. . . . when I in later years took up archaeology, I spent time digging in the lagoon on two different occasions, both being projects under the supervision of the Archaeology department of Venetian Ca' Foscari University. When taking my visitors on a tour I like to introduce them, if they so request to local eateries where they can have a taste of our selection of foods and wines in the same places where florentines and "aretini" go, carefully avoiding the "tourist-traps" which abound in places that heavily rely on tourists for their economic activity. I like this job because it gives me the chance to interact with people fron all over the world, from all walks of life, in a relaxed and positive atmosphere. I will be more than happy to consider personalized requests and itineraries if you so wish. I can arrange for you transportation with a licensed driver in order to explore areas of the Tuscan countryside without you needing to rent a car and drive in an unfamiliar area. I do have my own Alfa Romeo, but being a two-seater it is not the best choice to take more than one visitor riding! Undergraduate studies in "scienze per i beni culturali" UNISI - Università di Siena Currently attending post-graduate studies in "archeologia classica" or Classical Archaeology at UNIFI - Università di Firenze Licensed tour guide since 2010 none

Overview of your Florence tour

The Uffizi museum - or, rather, the Galleria degli Uffizi - was the first museum in the world to be devised, and since then the term "gallery" was quickly adopted by similar major institutions all over the world. It is Italy's second most-important museum after the Musei Vaticani in Rome, and the Republic's most important one, belonging the one in Rome to the Holy See. By taking this tour you will take a fascinating journey through masterpieces of Italian art from Roman times to the late Renaissance. You will be equipped with whispers, and in order to help the curve of attention, you can go for a break halfway or so through the tour having cappuccino or sip Spritz or any other drink you might desire, seated in one of the most panoramic terraces in Firenze. . .

Fabrizio was incredibly knowledgeable and we had a great tour of the Uffizi. I'd give him 6 stars if I could. My wife and a friend was with us and they would agree 100%.

Fabrizio was wonderful, knowledgeable, patient, friendly and above all an astute scholar of Florentine and Renaissance art, Our tour was perfect. We also appreciate how he reached out to us beforehand and arranged a tasty lunch at a less touristy trattoria after the museum. He is highly recommended!

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Fabrizio of the Uffizi museum. While this was not our first time there, we re-discovered many of the great masterpieces and left with indelible memories. Fabrizio made the art come alive with his thoughtful narrative. He is very knowledgeable and was very careful to select just the right content for a two hour visit; he did not overwhelm us but inspired us to come back. Thank you Fabrizio !!
