Ciao everybody! My name is Veronica and I'm from Florence. I've been a tour guide since 2008 and the goal of my tours is to offer you not only an artistic and historical overview of Florence, but an immersive visit into the typical aspects of the Italian life and culture. I used to live and work abroad: first as a student at UEA (University of East Anglia) in Norwich (UK), then as an apprentice in contemporary art galleries in Sevilla (Spain) and finally as a teacher of Italian and History of Art at Marist College in Poughkeepsie (New York). I have also worked as a Tour Leader around the world: USA, Africa, Russia and Europe. In short, I love travelling and whenever possible I leave my hometown to explore different countries and cultures. I'm an art historian. I love art as I think artworks tell stories and through those stories we can understand history. I'll show you the monuments of Florence not just in terms of style and beauty, but disclosing the social and historical context in which they were conceived and unveil the tales they hide. As a local, I'll also take you to my favorite places and to some of the artisan workshops who make Florence unique. Another passion of mine is wine. That's why I've become a certified sommelier. I believe that wine represents a very important part of Italian traditions. Behind a glass of wine you can discover history, nature, landscapes and lives of people. If you share my passion, I'll be more than happy to arrange for you a wine tasting in Florence! Recently I've been trained in accessible tourism for visually and mobility impaired people. So, let me know if you have specific needs. We can design together a trip that fits you. Btw, all my tours are customizable according to your requests and interests. I hope to see you soon in Florence! 2002 Degree in History of Art 2003 Master in Museum management 2007 Certificate as teacher of Italian as a second language 2008 Tour guide license of Florence 2019 Sommelier certificate I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Overview of your Florence tour

Join me on this tour and discover the rich history and influence of the Medici, the family that ruled Florence for over three hundred years! Our first stop will be the Medici Palace, the family's primary residence in Florence. This impressive architecture features luxurious furnishings and the incredible Chapel of the Magi's, frescoed by Benozzo Gozzoli. We will continue visiting the San Lorenzo church, which was the burial place for many members of the family and still hosts masterpieces by the most prominent artists of the Renaissance, such as Brunelleschi, Donatello and Michelangelo. Our final stop will be the Medici chapels, the mausoleum of the family, built to celebrate the memory of the Grand Dukes of Tuscany.

Veronica was excellent, with rave reviews from our group of four with ages spanning 33 to 80’s. She was easy to understand, knowledgeable, and kept us engaged. She shared information about each spot and piece of art that we would never have known, making the visit so much more worthwhile than if we had visited without a guide. Highly recommend Veronica and this tour.

We did the tour with Veronica on sat 20th October and it was fantastic - she used the history of the Medici family as the linking theme which on a walk from the Medici Palace to the Pitti palace is perfect - so a great mixture of people stories, history, buildings , pointing out all the interesting things that you miss walking around unguided ! Vero's English is excellent and she was charming - all our family group loved the tour many thanks to her
