How could a family of bankers control the town for over three centuries? Why are they so important for the Renaissance period? Who were the artists protected by Cosimo the Elder, and Lorenzo the Magnificent? What about the women that were behind this great man? Why there are no Medici left in Florence? The Medici were those who started the Renaissance, very rich bankers, and lovers of art, science, music, and culture. The influence of this family is fundamental for local history. But not only for Florence: they were friends of the most important families of Italy and kings of Europe. And they became the private bankers of the Pope. There is a lot to say about this family. And I will tell you everything starting from the bankers up to the grand Dukes. Let's go!

Your Florence tour itinerary

I'll meet you in front of the Medici Palace in Florence, or in another previously agreed spot. We are going to move in the streets of Florence, I will talk about the Medici through the buildings and statues that we will see on the way. We are going to walk near the following places, all views are from the outside, without entrances: - Medici Palace - San Lorenzo basilica - Cathedral Square  - The Strozzi palace - Signoria Square - Old Bridge - Pitti Palace All these places have important connections with the history of the Medici. * Itinerary can be customized upon request.
