Hello! I am Ilenia , Florence local guide, and I will be happy to guide you through the streets of the most beautiful town in the world: Florence! What I offer are experiences that will make you discover Florence in different aspects: history, art, food, and traditions. I love this town and the surprise I can see in the eyes of my guests when I show them Florence. I was born in Modena, the town of balsamic vinegar, Ferrari, and Pavarotti. When I was 23 I left home to go to London to learn English. That experience has been really unique and made me feel like I wanted to discover the world. After that, I started working for an Italian tour operator in hotels in Maldives, Kenya, Tanzania, Egypt, Greece, Germany, and Switzerland. This experience helped me to improve my English and learn how to find always the best solution for any of my guests. But as I reached Florence. . . I fell in love with the town, history, and masterpieces. Any corner of this town hides a secret, legend, or piece of history. That's why I decided to become a local guide, to have the possibility to share my passion with Everybody. When I do not work. . . I sing! Music is a passion and I try to find also some time to play with my band. I really hope to meet you here in Florence and help you to discover this beautiful town. See you in Florence!! - License as a local guide and tour leader, since 2016. - 15 years of experience working in Hotels as guest relations, receptionist, bookings. I can not drive a car with tourists, but I can find a driver with is own car/van.

How could a family of bankers control the town for over three centuries? Why are they so important for the Renaissance period? Who were the artists protected by Cosimo the Elder, and Lorenzo the Magnificent? What about the women that were behind this great man? Why there are no Medici left in Florence? The Medici were those who started the Renaissance, very rich bankers, and lovers of art, science, music, and culture. The influence of this family is fundamental for local history. But not only for Florence: they were friends of the most important families of Italy and kings of Europe. And they became the private bankers of the Pope. There is a lot to say about this family. And I will tell you everything starting from the bankers up to the grand Dukes. Let's go!
I'll meet you in front of the Medici Palace in Florence, or in another previously agreed spot. We are going to move in the streets of Florence, I will talk about the Medici through the buildings and statues that we will see on the way. We are going to walk near the following places, all views are from the outside, without entrances: - Medici Palace - San Lorenzo basilica - Cathedral Square - The Strozzi palace - Signoria Square - Old Bridge - Pitti Palace All these places have important connections with the history of the Medici. * Itinerary can be customized upon request. Feel free to message me.
