Ciao! Hello there! I'm Laura, a proud Florentine and I can't wait to make you fall in love with my city! I was born in Florence, 47 years ago and I grew up breathing the beauty and history of my hometown while simply living my teenage daily life. I have always loved books and was curious about the past which made me decided to become a medieval archaeologist: I studied here in Florence, where the spirit of the Middle Ages still walks the streets and lingers between the towers and the churches, floating in the thousands of paintings that can be found in Florence. As an archaeologist, I've met people from all around the world and worked for many years in Italy and in Jordan, and in time discovered that hidden beneath the surface of archeology was in reality the discovery of my passion in telling real life stories about the real people of the past. Thus I decided to become a tour guide! As any real Florentine, I'm really proud of my city, not only because of its beauty, but because of it's spirit, it's shyness, in spite of it's obvious magnificence, and I love to convey this spirit to my guests. I don't just want to "guide" you, I want to take you by your arm and let you fall in love with the real Florence. I really enjoy the contact with people, even with younger kids, and can transform myself in a real storyteller, well trained by years of reenactments! Most of all I really love the idea of engaging the whole family in a fun experience of edutainment. Since I was a teenager I have always had a passion for photography and started taking pictures during my high school years and never stopped. I still wander around with my camera, so I can also take you on a photographic tour, to discover Florence in it's magical moments. But most of all, what I love most is tailoring tours and experiences together with my guests, matching your interests and giving you the chance to experience your "personal" Florence! PhD in Medieval Archaeology Teacher in the graduate school in Archaeology, Florence University I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver. Lines in Florence are quite usual: also if we have tickets in our hands we'll have to do some lining to visit the Uffizi or the Accademia museums.

Florence is the city of the Brunelleschi's dome, of a huge cathedral, of the famous tombs of Santa Croce, of San Lorenzo - the church of the Medici family. The Florentines like me are proud of these great masterpieces, but I love to avoid crowds and noise and take refuge in the small churches that were the real wealth of Florentine society of the past. Shining icons, moving light effects, paintings, statues and popular veneration objects have been my friends for a long time. Every now and then I enter a small silent church and I am so enchanted to look at them that I want to make them tell me their stories, which are part of the great Florentine stories. And these are just the stories, the small, but intense emotions that I want to share with you in this tour! Come with me to find them and to discover my elusive city, with a different look on Florence!
- We will start with one of the most important churches of the medieval Florence, so ancient that in the building we still can find some ancient roman pieces: Santa Maria Maggiore. - We'll go on to Santa Trinita square with the church that hosts the frescoes by Domenico Ghirlandaio and the funerary chapel of the Strozzi Family. - We'll enter Santi Apostoli: a romanesque jewel hidden just two steps away from the Ponte Vecchio! And here you'll find a very special kind of stones! - A small pause for a coffee in an elegant cafè, in the elegant frame of the Zeffirelli Museum. - We'll end in one of the few baroque churches in Florence, talking about the faith of the Florentines in the past and nowadays: San Firenze. P. S. We can choose different churches depending on wedding or masses ceremonies. Please note that for entering the churches you will need to have your shoulders and your legs covered down to your knees.

This is a walking tour. The distances are always very short!

ByGuide: A good meeting point can be the Column of San Zanobi: the one with the cross, just in front the Baptistry
