Ciao! Hello there! I'm Laura, a proud Florentine and I can't wait to make you fall in love with my city! I was born in Florence, 47 years ago and I grew up breathing the beauty and history of my hometown while simply living my teenage daily life. I have always loved books and was curious about the past which made me decided to become a medieval archaeologist: I studied here in Florence, where the spirit of the Middle Ages still walks the streets and lingers between the towers and the churches, floating in the thousands of paintings that can be found in Florence. As an archaeologist, I've met people from all around the world and worked for many years in Italy and in Jordan, and in time discovered that hidden beneath the surface of archeology was in reality the discovery of my passion in telling real life stories about the real people of the past. Thus I decided to become a tour guide! As any real Florentine, I'm really proud of my city, not only because of its beauty, but because of it's spirit, it's shyness, in spite of it's obvious magnificence, and I love to convey this spirit to my guests. I don't just want to "guide" you, I want to take you by your arm and let you fall in love with the real Florence. I really enjoy the contact with people, even with younger kids, and can transform myself in a real storyteller, well trained by years of reenactments! Most of all I really love the idea of engaging the whole family in a fun experience of edutainment. Since I was a teenager I have always had a passion for photography and started taking pictures during my high school years and never stopped. I still wander around with my camera, so I can also take you on a photographic tour, to discover Florence in it's magical moments. But most of all, what I love most is tailoring tours and experiences together with my guests, matching your interests and giving you the chance to experience your "personal" Florence! PhD in Medieval Archaeology Teacher in the graduate school in Archaeology, Florence University I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver. Lines in Florence are quite usual: also if we have tickets in our hands we'll have to do some lining to visit the Uffizi or the Accademia museums.

Walking on the pavement of this majestic church is travelling in a revolution: the revolution of religion made by San Francis, the revolution of the spirits in the Reinassance, the revolution in art, with Michelangelo, and in science, with Galileo. Santa Croce is one of the most dear places to the heart of the Florentines, one of the medals that mark their pride as citizens. Personally I have been in love with this church since high school when I brought her most recent history and the poetry that Ugo Foscolo dedicated to her as an essay to the final exam. Being here and pay tribute to the memory of Michelangelo and Galileo, Dante, Rossini and many others "spiriti magni", the great spirits of Italy, is my way to feel proud of being a Florentine citizen of the world. Here I can feel my soul as the heir of the great "travellers" of science, art and music. Here I feel in the middle of a quiet storm where any wave participates in the great sea of human knowledge. Will you be my companions in this journey?
- We'll start talking about the church and the square, under the frowning look of Dante. - We'll have our tickets and we'll enter the church, where we'll pay tribute to the tombs of Michelangelo, Galielo Galilei, to the memory of Dante and some other great Italian spirit. - We'll see the frescoes of the main chapels and masterpieces by Donatello and Canova. - We'll discover the Sacristy with the great Cross by Cimabue, symbol of the great flood in 1966, and then the two chapels that were built and decorated for the two great families of the Reinassance: the medicean Noviziato Chapel and the Pazzi Chapel (some of these are temporary closed for Covid safety rules). - We'll rest in the shadow of the cloisters and then we'll finish with the small but beautiful Museum of the convent. And any special request you may have, do not hesitate to ask.
