Hello there! I'm Corinna, a Londoner who has been living in Florence for almost twenty years. I graduated at U. C. L. This is my private tour in the Oltrarno area of Florence, just across from Ponte Vecchio on the left-bank of the city, which is traditionally the more bohemian side! We'll visit the most important, and biggest, palace of Florence, Palazzo Pitti, where the last members of the Medici family lived. I'll guide you through the impressive rooms in the Palatine Gallery, which still have one of the world's most extensive art collections. Afterwards we will take a stroll through the beautiful Boboli Gardens - weather permitting - so I always recommend wearing comfortable shoes for this tour. I love ending this tour by going along to a popular area of Florence, Piazza Santo Spirito, here we can admire the beautiful Basilica (where Michelangelo studied as an adolescent) and choose where to have an aperitif or meal at one of the many characteristic bars and eating places nearby. This tour can be customised to specific client needs.
Corinna's tour of the Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens was perfectly executed. There is so much to see that the experience can be overwhelming, however Corinna focused on the highlights and suggested we take advantage of a special visit to tour the restored palace kitchen which had we been on our own, we would have missed the opportunity to see. By the tour's end, we felt like we had spent a few hours walking and sharing with a true friend.
Corinna was brilliant with loads of interesting historical facts bringing the past in to the present on the Streets of Florence Her friendly easy style brought Florence to life for us ������
Corinna is like the longtime family friend who has lived in Florence for decades and knows its history intimately. She blended the history of the Medicis and the Austrian Habsburgs into descriptions of the artworks in the Palace. She did so in an easy-going and friendly manner, which added to the appeal. Although there is a significant amount of art in the Pitti Palace, Corinna instinctively knew the right amount to discuss without overwhelming us with information. We can't recommend her enough!
