Hello there! I'm Corinna, a Londoner who has been living in Florence for almost twenty years. I graduated at U. C. L. London University in English and Italian Language and Literature and then the Institute of Linguists London before moving to Italy and becoming an authorised Tour Guide of Florence and the Province in 2008 (Membership No: 006/2009). Being married to a local has given me the possibility to know the real city and its people by going off the beaten track to avoid mass tourism; in this way, clients can understand that art and history is also fun and enjoyable! I have worked as a licensed Tour Guide in Florence for several years now and offer a wide variety of classic and alternative tours, along with custom made tours, to meet specific client requirements. A visit to Florence should be an enriching cultural experience to be cherished! - Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Italian Language and Literature - University College London, Institute of Linguists Certificate in Italian, Professional Secretarial Course Newbury College, Sommelier Course - II Certificate, Fismar Verona, - Licensed Tour Guide Certificate, Istituto Dante Alighieri, Florence I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

This is an adults-only private tour, where l'll lead you around Florence exploring the murkier side of the city. I think this tour is perfect for those of you who want to see the Florence under a different light, not simply beautiful Renaissance artwork and architecture, but rather life in the past - explained realistically. We'll weave our way along Medieval alleyways, past tall tower houses, Renaissance palaces and renowned sites, focusing on the different personalities, characters and institutions that all lived here and contributed to making this city the centre of the known world, the Wall Street of the past! I like to begin the tour in the central Piazza della Repubblica (which is easy to find) then I'll continue by going through the Medieval part of town passing the haunted Piazza Santa Elisabetta, the ex-prison Bargello Museum and Piazza Santa Croce which is still used for historical soccer matches, ending the tour in one of the city's most ancient side streets.
We'll explore Florence's darker side by walking along Medieval alleyways, past tower houses, Renaissance palaces, from Piazza della Repubblica, to Piazza Santa Elisabetta, Badia Fiorentina, the Bargello, then onto Piazza Santa Croce before concluding nearby. I recommend wearing comfortable shoes when booking this walking tour, as the weather can sometimes be variable and older Florentine streets are uneven! I can obviously customise this tour according to client requests, and during the tour itself we'll have time for a coffee break or ice-cream stop and photographs!
