Hello there! I've been living in Florence for over 35 years. Originally from the U.K , I decided to move to Florence to study and to make it my home for a while. I loved it so much that I just couldn't leave! There was so much going on here for me and I ended up after I'd finished my studies in art history and restoration, setting up a business. Buying, restoring and selling antiques. I've always had a passion for art and history and in Florence and Tuscany, there is so much of this and more! I have a background in theatre and music. I play the cello in an amateur orchestra here in the city. I married a Florentine and I have two grown up children. I spent many years living in a farmhouse on a hilltop surrounded by olive groves and vineyards but recently we moved back into the city. I use a bicycle to get around. I trained to be a guide 11 years ago because I wanted to be able to transmit all that I'd learned to others and I want to give every visitor a marvellous and unique experience. I love what I do! I am great with children and sensitive to people's needs. Let me lead you through the streets following in the steps of some of the world's greatest artists. Listen to fascinating tales from history. Understand about Italian culture and ideals. Taste authentic Florentine dishes and wines and soak up the culture. Walk with me off the beaten path and into the trendy Oltrarno neighborhood where restorers and artisans are still at work. Shop where the locals' shop. Join me on day trips into the countryside for wine tasting and delicious food. My tours are customised and can be adapted to suit your schedule. Don't hesitate in contacting me for more information on any of my tours. Thank you! I really look forward to meeting you soon in Florence. Registered licensed tour guide Diploma in art restoration Diploma in history of art Diploma in Italian business studies. I am not a driver but I can arrange for a private car with a fluent english speaking driver.

Recently rated as the coolest local area in Europe, this part of Florence is awesome! Want to get away from the hoards of tourists? Come with me and explore this area. We'll cross over the Santa Trinita bridge and head into the shadier back streets where artisans are still at work restoring antiques, bookbinding, making jewellery, silverware & leather, just to name a few. We will pick a few and peek in on them. A rich and rewarding experience. See where Michelangelo spent his youth & where the presumed sitter for Leonardo's Monalisa lived. Every morning different produce is sold on the Santo Spirito market. Shop where the local shops. Listen to intriguing stories from the lives of the Medici family. Wine tasting and traditional Florentine food to end with in a typical local trattoria.
- We will cross the river over the Santa Trinità bridge looking out onto the famous Ponte Vecchio, the Old Bridge. - Walk along the Borgo San Jacopo and into the heart of the Oltrarno district. - Piazza della Passera. - Via Toscanella. - Via Squazza. - The Pitti palace from the outside. - Via Maggio with its antique shops. - Piazza Santo Spirito and the church. - Via dei Serragli, Borgo Santo Spirito. - The Carraia bridge and the river bank.
