Hello!! If you are looking for a professional Tour Guide with more than 20 years experience in tourism, I'm available for you. I was born and grew up in Prato, where I live in an apartment overlooking Cathedral square, but, Cortona is where I go to whenever I can. My family has lived there for centuries and there my soul becomes at peace with the rest of the world in my home-away-from-home inside the Etruscan walls. My educational background is in humanistic studies; I graduated in high school at Liceo Classico Cicognini, then studied art history at the University of Florence where Tuscan Renaissance arts became my passion, particularly the arts by Piero della Francsca and his followers. In 2003 Ialso obtained an additional diploma at the School of Paleography and Archivist in the State Archive in Florence. While completing my studies I certified to become three licences as a Tour Guide: 1999 for Prato and its surroundings, in 2004 for Florence and its surroundings, then in 2010 for Arezzo and its surroundings, then now we all are tour guides for the Tuscan region. What's when I decided to work as Tour Guide full time! By certifyng in Arezzo meant that I could guide in my beloved Cortona, however the largest part of my work is in Florence, where in front of the Michelangelo's David I can shape the history and the career of the most brilliant artist who ever lived. Walking in the medieval streets of Florence I can bring back to life the city as it was in the 1300s and 1400s. In front of the masterpieces exhibited in the Uffizi Gallery I can unfold the history of Renaissance in the 1500s and its main artists such as Botticelli, Leonardo, Michelangelo and Raffaello and the Medici family who were extraordinary patrons of arts. I feel very lucky doing this job, which offers me the opportunity to share my knowledge and my passion in art history with people from all over the world. Other interests? antiques, eccentric objects in vintage shops and in flea markets. I also own an American costume jewelry collection. And I adore to cook. My self introduction can't be ended without mentioning my enormous love for animals, particularly dogs. Licensed tour guide in Florence, Prato, Arezzo and Cortona, and its surroundings University Degree in Art History Diploma in the School of Paleography and Archivist at the State Archive in Florence If my calendar seems full, don’t hesitate to contact me anyway. I may still be able to accommodate you. I can organize private transportation by private car and driver. Please note that I provide pick-up and drop-off at the hotel or port only through the driver. I will meet you directly at the designated meeting point. For easy communication on the day of the tour, I suggest downloading WhatsApp on your smartphone.
