Powerful bankers, at first, Grand dukes of Tuscany then. Members of the family were Popes in Rome, Queens of France, and, most of them, magnificent and munificent patrons of the arts. A walk through the history of Florence centering on some members of the Medici family's major branches. The first part of the tour focuses on the line called Medici from Cafaggiolo, the line of Cosimo the Elder and Lorenzo the Magnificent. We explore some monuments related to some important events for the family and their exposure in the Florentine Church and society: the Medici Palace (outside), the Medici Chapels and the monumental tombs that Michelangelo sculpted for his patrons, Piazza del Duomo, the Santa Trìnita church. In the second part, we visit the places and museums connected with the branch of the family called Medici "Popolani", the line of the Grand dukes: Piazza Signoria, the Vasari's Corridor (outside) and Pitti Palace (outside)
- Church of San Lorenzo (outside) - Palazzo Medici-Riccardi (outside) - Palazzo Strozzi (outside) - Church of Santa Trinita ( if it's open, we will visit the Saessetti Chapel) - Medici Chapels (inside) - Piazza Signoria - the Vasari's Corridor (outside) - Pitti Palace (outside) If you have any special interest, don't hesitate to ask! The Medici Chapels are closed on Tuesday, this day we will visit the Church of San Lorenzo from the inside Please remember to bring your passport, the ticket is NOMINAL and you must show your ID (passport photo on your phone works) Please write me if there are people with mobility problems and if you use or need a wheelchair, the itinerary will be different
