What is the Renaissance and what makes Florence the cradle of this Renaissance? Join me on one of my walking tours and I will tell you all about it. The art, the architecture but also the social history, all come together to make it an instructive yet highly enjoyable experience (there’s no exam at the end). Also, many are the less frequented Museums and churches in Florence, where you can find yourself in front of an absolute masterpiece, and no one around to bother you.

The Uffizi Gallery houses some of the most important examples of Renaissance art anywhere in the world. It is also home to the biggest collection of Roman statuary outside of Rome. This wealth of artworks was collected over the centuries by the Medici dynasty. Visiting a museum means making choices about what to see. The selection will obviously include Giotto, Fra Filippo Lippi, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raffaello, Tiziano and goes through to the beginning of Baroque with Caravaggio and some of his famous followers (among them a woman, Artemisia Gentileschi). NB: TICKETS ARE NOT INCLUDED IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS TOUR, CONTACT ME BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY BOOKING REQUEST. YOU are RESPONSIBLE for BOOKING and PURCHASING your tickets with the appropriate time-slot of your choice, on the official website, and choosing the time slot.
Before entering the Uffizi, a brief introduction will be made in order to set the stage for a tour of the Museum itself. The visit itsef is a trip back through time, to admire the masterpieces of Medieval, Renaissance and post-Renaissance art, including, of course, the Birth of Venus by Botticelli, Leonardo Da Vinci's Annunciation, Michelangelo's Doni Tondo, the Venus of Urbino by Tiziano, and lots more.
