The religious heart, the Duomo, the baptistery, giotto's bell tower and Brunelleschi's Dome. (Outside) The medieval quarters with the house-towers from 1300. The polical heart with the cityhall palazzo vecchio, the Uffizi Palace (outside), the Vasari Corridor path (outside) the porcellino market, republic square the center of the old Roman forum, signoria Square and the famous old bridge, golden bridge. The "Oltrarno" artisans quarter and the Pitti Palace (outside) The "mercato centrale" with its food market A complete tour also suggested to first time visitors with the main monuments. The itinerary can be changed to fit your interest and it depends from where it starts.

We had an excellent tour with Cristina. Our group consisted of 2 in their 30’s, who hadn’t visited Florence previously, and two in their 70’s who had. I requested that Cristina include general information about Florence as well as historical background. Cristina surpassed our expectations. She is enthusiastic, energetic and a font of relevant information. She stopped at intervals to go into deeper details of history of Florence. Her sense of humor was evident in her asides regarding historical events and figures. We strongly recommend her as a guide.

Cristina was another Italian-born veteran tour guide. She had a very sweet and energetic demeanor and was able to get us to many sites around Florence in our day and a half with her. In the art galleries, it was like being in a college art history class - she had so much knowledge about artists, etc. She was very flexible and did a nice job of balancing our limited time to get to many sites despite having to wait in some lines (even with our reserved ticket times). She suggested an awesome restaurant for lunch - I Ghibellini - and interpreted for us as this was one of the few restaurants that did not have any English on the menu. We also tried her favorite gelato place, Gelateria dei Neri.
