Hi! My name is Valentina, I was born and raised in Florence. Since I was a little child my mother used to take me around the city telling me stories and curiosity, and this is how I fell in love with my city. When I grew up I decided to study art history and go deeper inside the history of Florence. After travelling around the world for few years, to improve my language skill, I have decided to come back to my birthplace and become a tour guide. I love to welcome people from all over the world to show them the beauty of this place. Not in enough time in Florence? There's no better way to have a walk with a real local! I was born and raised in Florence, no-one better than me can take you around and tell you the history of this place! Florence is not a big town in three hours we can see plenty of things. Together we will visit the Medici palace the very first residence built by the family in 1440. Just right behind the palace there is the San Lorenzo district, once the Medici district and now known for the market, the biggest market in town where you can find lots of leather items. Here we can enter the food market, built in the IXX century, taste and have a look at the typical florentine food. After San Lorenzo will head to the religious centre: Piazza del Duomo with the Cathedral fo Santa Maria del Fiore and the St. John Baptistery. We'll have a walk into the medieval area and see the medieval houses. We'll go then to Piazza della Signoria, cross Ponte Vecchio to finish the tour in Piazza Pitti to see the last Medici residence.
Valentina was charming and she is great at what she does. Her breadth of knowledge and welcoming attitude made this tour a delight. My family and I spent the morning with her getting used to all the delightful things Florence had to offer. A great way to get started in this city.
We enjoyed Valentina's tour. She showed up 15 mins earlier in the lobby to meet & greet us. The earphones were great tools because everyone could hear her when we were travelling from point to point. What I appreciate was when we were queuing to enter the Accademia Gallery, she asked about our preference - if she should just focus on Michaelangelo's statue or cover the whole museum & tailor according to our needs. The pizza and gelato also went smoothly with the whole tour. Grazie Valentina!
