We will begin our tour at the arranged location and we walk to the Uffizi Gallery, one of the most-visited museums in the world, where we'll trace the evolution of Italian painting through a magnificent selection of masterworks produced by artists that range from the Gothic master Giotto and continue on through the apex of the Renaissance with Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raffaello, Botticelli and other extraordinary artists. After, we'll head to the Accademia to see Michelangelo's majestic David as well as some of his other most famous works. During our tour, I'll be explaining the historical significance of the works we're looking at as well as giving you details about the artists' personal histories, working styles and the life and politics in Florence at the times in which they were working, in order to give you a thorough understanding of these monumental works of art.
We will begin at the arranged location and we walk to the Uffizi where the visit will include a selection of its most significant holdings. We will then head to the Accademia to see Michelangelo's most iconic work (the David!). *The sequence of the visit might be reverse (Accademia gallery first, then Uffizi gallery) for tickets availability issues.
