Discover the beauty of Tuscany! This private and customized tour takes you away from the crowds and into the peaceful rolling hills of the famous area of San Miniato, world renowned for its truffles, its vineyards and olive groves. The village of San Miniato is perched on a hill, a short distance from the Arno and halfway between Florence and Pisa, both of which have fought over it for centuries. The origins of the centre, famous for the region's typical, delicious white truffle, date back to the Etruscan-Roman era. Meet the family whose great-grandparents actually brought the truffle in this area to fame. We'll head into the woods with the farmer & his dog to find a truffle or two. Lunch at the local restaurant specializing in truffles. Our next destination is a small family managed organic vineyard. Taste their wines standing on the edge of the vineyard! Visit the cellar and learn about the wine making culture. On our way back to the city we can stop at one of the hilltop villages.
