I would like to present myself as an expert of Itineraries in Florence and Tuscany. Florence is my base town, but I have lived for a long time in Siena Province, Chianti and San Gimignano. Certainly I have expertise in every corner of Tuscany. I offer and enjoy also giving tours in other destinations in Central Italy Liguria, Emilia, Umbria and Rome. My university formation is in the Fine arts and history. I am a licensed tour guide, tour manager and tour agent. I have followed several other courses in languages, wine production and Italian food. My professional experiences were for long time in art galleries. As a child, I traveled a lot with my family, as student I liked the idea of being an expert and knowledgeable tour guide. My passion for art, history, outdoor living, landscapes, cuisine made this possible in my mature age. That is how I started in 2009 my experience as a tour guide. I worked as free lance for several local companies based in Florence. Since 2016 I am promoting my services on this Platform ToursByLocals. I have no words to explain how great experience it has been since than. As of today, I prefer giving guided tours in the museums of Florence. But, I am passionate of exploring surroundings, towns, villages or trails off the beaten paths. My regular tours are result of experience . Siena was a great medieval Republic. Proudly standing for it's independence. We can still see that feudal society texture at it's best in the towns surrounding it. Montepulciano in the province of Siena It is one of the fascinating hill top towns in Tuscany, beautiful geographic position 600 mt above the sea level. In the past connected with both Siena and Florence. Fine examples of history, architecture. Church of Sant'Agostino, House of Poliziano, a famous humanist and poet. Pienza is an ideal town of Renaissance, Pope Pius II and Bernardo Rosselino the architect made a dream possible. Urbanistic planning at it's high. A functional, esthetically, artistically innovative project. Pecorino cheese. Brunello wines are made in the surroundings of Val d'Orcia, of an incredible beauty. Wine tast.s are available, but must be req.d in advance. Two UNESCO sites in a day, with a lot of tasty temptations. If you're going for open air itinerary, genuine food, book it, this is a real Tuscan experience.
Your Florence tour itinerary
1 - Florence departure possibly at 8. 00 am 2 - drive towards Siena and Val d'Orcia. 110 km or 70 miles to Torrenieri. Include from 1hr stop at Siena city center, Cathedral and Il Campo. We can stay more if we don't do a morning stop at a wine cellar, but afternoon 3 - eventual stop at a winery on the via Romea, pilgrim's way only if confirmed. 4 - 25 min scenic drive to Pienza. Stops for the photos of the landscapes 5 - Pienza. Walking tour in the town. We will enter in the Duomo. Cheese tasting. Scenic places, photos. 6 - 20 min scenic drive to Montepulciano. Walking tour in the town 1 and 1 /2 hrs. 7 - wine tasting of the local Vino Nobile 8 - 1 hour drive back to Florence. And if you have any special interests, please let me know!
