Dear Traveller, Since when I was a teenager my true passion has been travelling abroad. As a child I used to live in Paris and therefore I've absorbed with no effort French language and culture, but I'm a native Florentine. That's the reason why I like so much people who invest time and economic resources in travelling to expand their mental horizons and meeting people from other part of the world. While completing my academic background I've spent one year in London and since then I never stopped travelling as tour menager in Egypt, Libia, Tunisia, Jordan, France, Etiopia, Turkey, Greece and United States. In 1992 I won the public contests to be Licensed Guide in Florence / Siena and I fell in love with my job, because being a guide is being myself: a lifetime studying and discovering. My guests say my special gift is to be able in sharing my passion for Art, Economic History and hidden Beauties of Siena and Florence, maximising their time during their stay. Let me introduce you to Florence and Siena unique harmony and flavour: their museums, Medici's residences, churches, home made ice creams and artisanal workshops, still able in creating true masterpieces. The tours I'm listing here are just samples, the ones that I think are eligible but, Since everyone of us is different, It will be my pleasure to fully customised the tour to your pace, interest and expectations, for a true VIP service. For Uffizi and Accademia museums I can book fast track tickets without handling fees as you will be able to pay those extras directly on the spot. *On request I can hire a private driver/luxury and air-conditioned van, the easiest way to travel from Florence to Siena and to discover their hidden beauties. *For Cruise visitors I can arrange "VIP treatment" shore excursions including a luxury air conditioned car or minivan with a professional driver (with pick up and drop off at your ship). A fascinating walk through the historical city center to discover the cultural and economic reasons why Florence became the famous 'Cradle' of the Renaissance: * The Religious Center : The famous Cathedral (Duomo) Brunelleschi's Dome, the Baptistery - the beauty of its doors moved Michelangelo to call them "the Gates of Paradise" -and Giotto's Bell-Tower ( outside) * Medieval Neighbour, with its narrow and hidden lanes where we can visit Dante Alighieri 's House, local artisans workshops and one of the best Ice Cream parlour in the world (Listed by the National Geographic !) *Old Bridge *Signoria Square: the political city center, a real open air museum that will leave you speechless where you'll see among other original Roman and Renaissance statues, the replica of Michelangelo's David in its original location * Basilica S. Croce, known as the "Pantheon of the Italian Glories" due to the fact that many famous Italians such as Michelangelo, Machiavelli, Galileo Galilei and Rossini are buried there.
My wife and I cannot speak highly enough about our time spent with Emma in Firenze. She had the easiest demeanour and a way of explaining this amazing city and its history. This was our first tour on an extended trip in Italy and Emma's care and attention was the perfect way to start. Hospitality and knowledge on the subject was above our expectations. Emma was a wonderful guide. She met us at our hotel and we were off to one of the churches in Florence. She was very knowledgeable about the history of Florence and the importance of so many details of the buildings and statues. Her knowledge gave us a perspective we would not have had without her guidance. She helped us get acquainted with the streets of Florence and took us to the best gelato.
