I truly love what I do and I enjoy every moment of it! Florence is a precious jem, with its monumental churches and palaces, and amazing collections of artworks housed in the museums. The city is known as the birthplace of the Renaissance and home of talented artists such as Leonardo, Michelangelo, Botticelli, Donatello. . . but also the city of those powerful and ambitious families that made the Renaissance possible and ruled the city for centuries, such as the Medici. Florence is the most beautiful city in the world and my aim is to make you fall in love with it the same way I have. I crafted this tour to offer you the easiest, best way to explore the city learning about its history, walking along the same streets Michelangelo & Leonardo walked. I'll unveil the reasons why it became the centre of art & culture and birthplace of the Renaissance in the 15th century, as l take you to the city's main squares & monuments such like Piazza della Signoria with its sculptures, Palazzo Vecchio, the Uffizi & Piazza della Repubblica with its 19th century cafes & restaurants. You'll be enchanted by the Duomo and its giant Dome, the Belltower and the Baptistery. We'll also explore the Medieval district of Dante with the tower houses and take a look at the river from the Ponte Vecchio, Florence's oldest bridge, known for its jewellery shops. As we go from churches to Renaissance Palaces, I'll tell you about the Medici family and share curiosities about the Renaissance patrons.
·If we started the tour from Piazza Della Repubblica, centre of Florence, we'd continue to the Church of Orsanmichele (exterior), masterpiece of Gothic architecture and symbol of the Guilds. ·Afterwards, we'd head to see Palazzo Davanzati & Palazzo Strozzi from the outside, examples of Medieval & Renaissance Palaces. ·We'd then walk along the high-end via Tornabuoni, with boutiques like Gucci & Ferragamo, to reach the Santa Trinita Church & Square. ·What follows would be the Oltrarno at the south of the city, known for its artisans and antique shops. ·We'll continue towards Pitti Palace. ·Next, to the medieval Ponte Vecchio, with the jewellery shops. ·Then we'll walk by the Uffizi Gellery, Palazzo Vecchio & Signoria Square, symbols of the Florentine government through the centuries. ·Then walking through Dante's district, the majestic Duomo, Cupola & Belltower will appear in front of us. ·We'll finally reach the Medici Palace and San Lorenzo Church and neighbourhood with the leather & food market.
