I am a native Newyorker who calls Florence "home". I first came to Florence as a university student to study its art and history over 20 years ago. . . and I never left. After years of experience as an instructor of Art History for an American study abroad program, I decided to share my interests and passion for art with travelers. So when I am not teaching, I love taking visitors around the town, showing them all the sites from an insider's point of view. My tours are not boring lectures with an overload of dates and facts, but fun and fascinating visits to the city's top sites weaved with intriguing tales and stories that put all the art into context. Learn about the life and times of Florence's great masters. Understand the art-making process and various artistic techniques. Get real insight into the history, art, and culture of this beautiful city. I can easily tailor a tour to fit your style and interests, whether you are a first-time visitor or a wanderlust art-lover. Join me for some interesting walks through town and museum visits with an "educational" twist for intellectually curious travelers! Official licensed tour guide of Florence and native English speaker. Degrees in Art History from Fordham University (B.A.) and Syracuse University (M.A.). I am not a driver. I can arrange for a professional driver to pick you up and drop you off at your port of call.

Not your run-of-the-mill tour, but a walk where magnificent squares and sites become the backdrop for tales of divine intervention, scandalous plots, murder, and intrigue. See the city with a storyteller with a passion for history. Join me for impressive sites and fascinating tales. Hear the legend of how the city was spared from imminent siege through divine intervention. Then plunge into the world of the Medici as tales of conspiracy unfold as you pass through their Renaissance stomping ground. Discover how an image transformed a grain market into a church. Continue through the medieval quarter of Dante, the ultimate storyteller, and discover how his tales of sinners became the means of his revenge on his political enemies. Step into Piazza della Signoria and see the spot where a charismatic power-thirsty preacher was burnt at the stake. On the Ponte Vecchio learn how the Arno River helped transform the city into a bustling capital but also how its ragging flood waters menaced the population.
• Begin at Piazza Duomo, the Cathedral Square • Enter the Courtyard of Palazzo Medici • Admire Renaissance sculpture of the façade of Orsanmichele • Stroll through the Dante Quarter • Explore Piazza della Signoria with Palazzo Vecchio • Enjoy marvelous sites and stunning views over the Arno at Ponte Vecchio. • I can customize this tour to suit your own particular interests or itinerary. Please contact me for details. • Please note: The tour may include entrance inside a church. Please have clothing to cover your shoulders and knees.
