If you want to have your personal tour guide in Florence because you are you tired of big groups and lightening visits, this is what you are looking for! I provide extremely high quality, yet fun and informal, fully guided tours of Florence, designed for small, independent and open-minded travelers. I will be happy to introduce you to the real Florentine culture. You will have a personal tour guide of Florence at your disposal to discover all the secrets of the city: history, curiosities, art and food. Through your private tour you will get to know all the main historical buildings and the museums, as well as the streets, the squares and the markets. All will be showed to you adding amusing and curious anecdotes about Florence history. I give different types of tours and my services are always taylor-made: it's not the same thing giving a tour to a family with children, a group of friends or a couple of honey-mooners! With the Classic tour of Florence, we will visit the top sites, such as the Duomo, the Ponte Vecchio and Santa Croce Square. Moreover, I offer thematic tours, such as the Medici Grand Tour, a full immersion in the story of the most famous banking family of Florence. I am also specialized in the historical tours, like the medieval tour of Florence, focused on tower houses, religious orders and the real medieval house of Florence, Palazzo Davanzati. One of my favorite ones is a funny city tour with a special emphasis on food and wine: this is the Wine and Street Food Tour of Florence, to figure out what to order for breakfast at an Italian bar or where to find the best gelato spots in town. I love to give tours to the youngest ones, so if you have children in your party it will be exciting to discover the city with them. During my career as tour guide I got a specialization on tours for the visually impaired. Touring Florence is possible! You just need the right person to help you. I use high-releaf models, tactile reproductions and above all my comunication skills. Human relations always make the difference! If you wish to have further information on a particular subject or aspect you just have to ask: we will organize together a different tour, completely customized for you. Hello there! I'll introduce myself, my name is Francesca, I was born 33 years ago in this beautiful city, Florence, and I have been a qualified tourist guide of Florence since 2008 (time flies..!). After getting a degree in Modern Cultures and Languages at the University of Florence and completing my studies in Spain at the Universidad de Valladolid, studying English-Spanish code switching, I had several experiences in the field of diplomatic institutions, international trade and, eventually, I approached the tourism business, working on cruise ships at hotel department. Once I decided that the time of restless travelling was over, I thought that becoming a tour guide of Florence was the best opportunity to share my passion for my home town. Guiding is my full time job, my certification was issued in 2008 by the Italian Government. In the mean time, I came back to College to get a History Degree and I'm learning Hebrew language. I am self-employed tourist guide, not a tour operator. I am not a driver and in Italy you need a special licence to transport people in your own vehicle.

The first things that will strike you in Fiesole are its quietness and silence. It's a little gem that deserves to be discovered with no rush. Its slowness is the reason why I moved here a few years ago and I decided to rise my son between its olive groves and woods. I can give you several reasons why you should visit Fiesole. First of all, you can get to Fiesole taking the public bus from Florence train station. Prepare to let your mind blown looking at the landscape around you a switchback after the other. Second, Fiesole has a surprisingly intact Roman theater of the I century, imposing Etruscan walls, a mystic cathedral of XI century and a romantic little church overlooking the valley of Florence (San Francesco). We'll also visit a true "frantoio" (olive grove and mill) and taste delicious extra virgin olive oil. During the Middle Ages Fiesole and Florence were strong rivals: Fiesole was destroyed by the Florentines in 1125 and lost its primacy. There's actually one rule here: don't mention Florence!
- Romanesque Cathedral of San Romolo (XI century), characterized by its mystic symbolism. Visit inside. - Roman theater: the only one still existing in this area, since it was not destroyed in the Middle Ages, unlike the one in Florence. Visit of archaeological area. - Ruins of the Etruscan temple: we will learn about this incredible civilization. - Roman baths: this was Fiesole spa at the times of the Romans. - Fiesole Archeological Museum: a quick visit of the museum to see some of the original Etruscan and Roman pieces, including a Longobard tomb (they were Germanic people who ruled most of the Italian Peninsula from 568 to 774). - San Francesco church: on the very hilltop of Fiesole, this is probably the most romantic corner of the town! A kiss here is a must-do! Visit inside and walk to the hill (10 minutes uphill). - Then we will go to an organic olive grove where we will learn about the healthy power of extra virgin olive oil, tasting it and combining it with delicious dishes.

The tour starts in Fiesole main piazza (Piazza Mino da Fiesole). You can take the public bus n. 7 from Florence train station, which takes you to Fiesole in approximately 30 minutes. Otherwise, you can take a taxi, which takes you there in around 20 minutes. Once in Fiesole, it's a walking tour, which includes a walk uphill of 10 minutes and the visit of the archeological area outdoors (uneven). Lastly, we will go to the olive grove by shuttle provided by the farm (10 min drive).
