My name is Gerry, I am a qualified and certified National tourist guide. I was born and reared a short distance outside Galway City. I have grown up visiting the city as child with my parents and as I got older I began working in the city, socialising with friends. The city has always had vibracy and energy from the University, arts and culture scene. I have always had love of history so it's brilliant that can share my passion and love for Galway as a walking tour guide. I also use my previous sales experience working in the drinks industry which developed a love and appreciation of wines and spirits which I use in the food tours that I run in Galway city. My spare time is taken up with coaching and managing a local GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association) team in the Irish sport of Hurling, so when I meet you I will explain the game to you and recommend where you can see it being played. In 2018, the stress of the sales life was taking its toll on my health and family life, so I qualified as a Regional Tour Guide 2019 and left the sales life and started guiding straight away. Then Covid struck and I decided to set up my own tour guiding business and also qualified as a National Tour Guide over lockdown. I am a locally based tour company working in Galway city and county offering our knowledge to help you understand and enjoy our city and county. I provide walking tours and food tours of Galway city, I can also accompany clients in a private car/vehicle or coach. The walking tours will bring you through the medieval streets of Galway and will show you the important sites that has made Galway the city that it is. I use my local knowledge of Galway to show you the places that we love to eat and drink, with the final part of the tour takes you to a beautiful area of the city that is hardly ever on other walking tours. I am also a member of Approved Tour Guides of Ireland (ATGI). I look forwarding to seeing in Galway on one of my walking or food tours, so please reach out if you have a questions. Slàn Gerry
