The Giant's Causeway is a unique world heritage site that is also known as the Jewel In The Crown of the fabulous Antrim north coast. " Be awe-inspired with its unique features of hexagonal stone columns flowing from and into the sea. The spectacle itself has been ranked in worldwide importance alongside the famous Mount Everest and the Giant Redwoods of California. Walk in the footprints of the legendary Celtic hero, Finn MacCool, who along with volcanic movement, helped to fashion (it has been alleged) the now world famous basalt columns of granite and the stepping stones that enabled him to walk across the sea to Scotland to fight a neighbouring giant, Benandonner. The area is also a world-famous haven for many types of sea-birds.
Fantastic time in the North. Barry was an absolute gentleman and worked out all the details, leaving us free to enjoy the beautiful Irish coastline. If you are considering a private guide, and Barry is available- BOOK IT. You will not regret it.
Barry is amazing and his customer service is top notch. He was very accommodating and attentive guiding us to out of the way spots that complemented our main destination. He made the whole day feel like we were being given a private tour by family. We requested a last minute deviation from the tour, which I think resulted in a much more fun and interesting trip. We had a great tour with Barry. He picked us up in Belfast, and drove us around the northern coast. Even though the Giant's Causeway was a madhouse, Barry helped us enjoy it and get the most out of the experience. One of the most valuable parts of spending the day with Barry was hearing about his family and personal life and experience with the complicated history of Ireland. We had lots of laughs and appreciated his sense of humor greatly. We would book again with him if at all possible.
We wished to visit ancestral family home-towns near Belfast. Barry made the wishes happen. Our visit to the Dublin area was short, but packed with several excursions. The highlight of our vacation was this very day with Barry. He was everything mentioned in by other reviewers - flexible, accommodating, knowledgable, excellent driver, PLUS MORE. We so enjoyed his stories, authenticity, and generosity. The entire day with Barry was outstanding (11+ hours).
Our tour with Barry was amazing. He made sure we were comfortable, his knowledge of the area was wonderful and he tailored the tour to our interests. We especially enjoyed the conversation throughout the day and felt we had the best tour of Northern Ireland possible. We would highly recommend him and would book with him again in the future
Our planned day with Barry required a 3-hour drive from Dublin to the Northern tip of Ireland to visit two places. We had to pre-purchase time slotted tickets for each. Dublin traffic was horrible and we were an hour late getting out of town. Barry's cool head and creativity saved the day ... he arranged for us to enter our sights during times that were already sold out and still found time for a scenic coastal drive rather than a quicker heavily traveled inland motorway. Perfect day!
