Damian is a gem. With some Irish good luck, we were able to secure tickets to Knowth and Damian was available to take us! We also visited Hill of Slane and Monasterboice. Damian was a fabulous guide for our tour to Newgrange. He was clearly a regular at Newgrange and knew most of the people working there. He drove us from Dublin and told us all sorts of interesting stories on our way. Then he took us to Monasterboise Monastery since we had a bit of extra time. He also gave us some wonderful tips on driving in Ireland, as we were renting a car the next day. And they helped--we were fine driving on the West coast of the country. Suggested itinerary: -Departure from your Dublin based hotel or CRUISE SHIP -Please note Newgrange is a World UNESCO heritage site it is always wise to arrive early. -Enjoy a short Dublin city tour on route. -Once we arrive at Bru Na Boinne, you enter the brand new state of the art visitor centre. The exhibits explore the seasonal nature of Stone Age society, the significance of the solar cycle, ceremonies, and the monument building process. -From there you will be transported to both Newgrange and Knowth passage tombs. We will be at Newgrange and Knowth for approx. 3. 5 hours This tour as a whole or partially, can be customized to fit your preferences - please inquire!
