Hi, my name is Donncha and I would be delighted to be your private driver/guide on your trip to Ireland. Based in County Laois in the midlands of Ireland, I am well located to cover many parts of Ireland. My tours will take you through my own county of Laois, my neighbouring County Kilkenny, County Carlow, County Tipperary and all along the west coast of Ireland - Cork, Kerry, Clare, Galway & Mayo. I offer day trips from Dublin to the likes of Wicklow, Kilkenny and Kildare. Tours of the midlands cover Laois, Offaly and Westmeath while in 'the sunny south-east' I can take you to Wexford and Waterford. I have been operating as a driver/guide for over 10 years. I am a qualified guide, approved by Failte Ireland, our national tourism agency. Your transport will be a Mercedes V-Class with leather seats and air-conditioning. I am passionate about my country, its history and its people and am proud to have been able to demonstrate its beauty and culture to so many people in the past. Always flexible, I am able to take you 'off the beaten track' to show some of the hidden gems of Ireland or any areas and places that might be of special interest to you. Overview of your Dublin tour

Kilkenny is an ideal place to stay and enjoy day trips to the surrounding counties. Kilkenny City is Ireland's medieval capital and home to historic houses, cathedrals and castles. From here you can reach miles of beautiful coastline and countryside. The counties of Laois, Carlow, Wexford, Waterford and Tipperary are just a short drive away. Return each evening to Kilkenny City which has an ample supply of great accommodation offerings, pubs, restaurants and entertainment.

Don prepared an exceptional and informative tour of our visit to Ireland's South East in search of information of our ancestors. Taking what scant information we had, he suggested some pre-work and followed up with a discovery tour of locations where our ancestors once lived and worked along with a general tour of the history at their time. The tour perfectly provided us with an overview of the area and a very enjoyable experience. Don was extremely accommodating with our schedule and a perfect gentleman on the tour.

Don was absolutely fabulous as a driver/guide, and delightful as an informative conversationalist. He readily accommodated my request for a very quirky, off-the-beaten- path itinerary. He also introduced me to a lovely pub in Kilkenny that was a bit off the usual tourist trail, and which had great food! (I won't reveal the name…you'll have to ask Don.) If you wish for a lovely tour of Kilkenny/Waterford/The Midlands, you can't do better than Don.

Day 1: Kilkenny - New Ross - Waterford - Kilkenny Places to see include Jerpoint Abbey, Dunbrody Experience, Hook head Lighthouse & Waterford Crystal Day 2: Kilkenny - Laois - Carlow - Kilkenny Places to see include Dunmore Caves, Castlecomer Discovery Park, Heritage Towns of Durrow & Abbeyleix, Heywood Gardes, The Rock of Dunamase, Brownshill Dolmen Day 3: Kilkenny - Tipperary - Kilkenny Places to see include Kells Priory, Burnchurch Castle, The Rock of Cashel & Cahir Castle Tours are generally 8 hours approximately and will start at 9am or any agreed time. The above itinerary is a guide only and other options can include day tours to Wicklow or day tours to Dublin plus much more. Remember that it is your tour, and I can amend the day to suit your needs, or it can be combined with some of my day trips in other parts of the country for a longer tour.
