Congratulations on finding the profile of one of Ireland’s highest-ranking tour guides! My name is Adam, and for over a decade, I've had the privilege of guiding guests through the beautiful Emerald Isle. Having toured over 80,000 people to Ireland’s most iconic destinations, I can assure you that you're in safe hands when you book a tour with me. I was born in Dublin and raised in the scenic county of Laois, where my passion for Irish history and culture began. This curiosity led me to travel across Europe, and beyond, to places like Turkey, Vietnam, and the United States. It was this love of learning and discovery that ultimately steered me toward a career in tour guiding. While many of my friends pursued more traditional paths, I chose to follow my heart and immerse myself in the study of history. That decision led me to tour guiding, where I discovered my true calling. Over the years, I’ve guided tours at some of Ireland’s most prestigious sites, including Kilmainham Gaol and the National History Museum. Tour guiding is more than a job to me - it's a passion. Spend just a few minutes with me, and you’ll quickly see how much I love sharing the rich history and culture of Ireland with others. I’m eager to offer you an authentic Irish experience, tailored to your interests and needs. Since joining ToursByLocals in 2019, I’ve had the pleasure of helping guests from around the world experience Ireland in a unique and personal way. Whether you're interested in history, culture, or scenic beauty, I’ll ensure you have a memorable time. Here’s a quick snapshot of my credentials: • Master’s Degree in History & Media (UCD) • Bachelor’s Degree in History & Politics (UCD) • Fáilte Ireland Certified National Tour Guide. • Lecturer of National Tourism Award. • “Travellers’ Choice Award” from TripAdvisor (2021-2025) • Over a decade of experience guiding in Ireland. I’m happy to accommodate your schedule, interests, and any special requests you may have. Please don’t hesitate to contact me - I look forward to helping you experience the best of Dublin and beyond. Céad Míle Fáilte (one hundred thousand welcomes), Adam

Join me as we uncover Dublin’s hidden and fascinating Jewish history. Though a small community, the Jewish population in Dublin has left a lasting mark on the city. The first mention of Jews in Ireland dates back to the 11th-century Annals of Innisfallen. Following the pogroms in Russia under Tsar Alexander III, a determined group of Jewish immigrants established a vibrant community in late 19th-century Dublin. Despite being newcomers in a foreign land, they worked hard, climbed the social ladder, and became vital members of Irish society. The Jewish community played a key role in Ireland’s revolutionary struggle for independence and produced influential politicians for the newly formed state. Interestingly, two Israeli presidents can trace their roots back to Dublin. Come and learn more about this fascinating history! Please note: This is a historical tour of Dublin and does not address contemporary Middle Eastern politics.
• We’ll begin with a coffee and snack at Dublin’s kosher bakery, Bretzel. • Hear about the Jewish community’s involvement in the labour movement and their anti-fascist actions in the 1930s. • Learn about the work of renowned artist Harry Kernoff and his contributions to Dublin’s cultural landscape. • Explore the influential Herzog family and their impact in both Ireland and Israel. • Dive into the social aspects of Jewish life, visiting an old Jewish medical dispensary and school. • Discuss the Jewish protagonist in James Joyce's Ulysses, celebrated every June 16th on Bloomsday. • Uncover the personal stories of Ireland’s Holocaust victims and their enduring legacies. Please note: While we will stop outside the Jewish Museum, the tour does not include the museum itself, as it is volunteer-run and open only on Sundays from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
