Congratulations on finding the profile of one of Ireland’s highest-ranking tour guides! My name is Adam, and for over a decade, I've had the privilege of guiding guests through the beautiful Emerald Isle. Having toured over 80,000 people to Ireland’s most iconic destinations, I can assure you that you're in safe hands when you book a tour with me. I was born in Dublin and raised in the scenic county of Laois, where my passion for Irish history and culture began. This curiosity led me to travel across Europe, and beyond, to places like Turkey, Vietnam, and the United States. It was this love of learning and discovery that ultimately steered me toward a career in tour guiding. While many of my friends pursued more traditional paths, I chose to follow my heart and immerse myself in the study of history. That decision led me to tour guiding, where I discovered my true calling. Over the years, I’ve guided tours at some of Ireland’s most prestigious sites, including Kilmainham Gaol and the National History Museum. Tour guiding is more than a job to me - it's a passion. Spend just a few minutes with me, and you’ll quickly see how much I love sharing the rich history and culture of Ireland with others. I’m eager to offer you an authentic Irish experience, tailored to your interests and needs. Since joining ToursByLocals in 2019, I’ve had the pleasure of helping guests from around the world experience Ireland in a unique and personal way. Whether you're interested in history, culture, or scenic beauty, I’ll ensure you have a memorable time. Here’s a quick snapshot of my credentials: • Master’s Degree in History & Media (UCD) • Bachelor’s Degree in History & Politics (UCD) • Fáilte Ireland Certified National Tour Guide. • Lecturer of National Tourism Award. • “Travellers’ Choice Award” from TripAdvisor (2021-2025) • Over a decade of experience guiding in Ireland. I’m happy to accommodate your schedule, interests, and any special requests you may have. Please don’t hesitate to contact me - I look forward to helping you experience the best of Dublin and beyond. Céad Míle Fáilte (one hundred thousand welcomes), Adam

"I suppose these hurley matches and walking tours are preparations for the great event. There is more going on in Ireland at present than you are aware of." – James Joyce Ireland is known as the "land of saints and scholars," famed for its rich religious heritage and treasures like the Book of Kells. Yet, it’s our writers who truly put Ireland on the map. With four Nobel Prize winners in Literature, Ireland has produced more per capita than any other country. Join me as we stroll through Dublin, the city that shaped literary giants. We’ll visit landmarks like Trinity College and the National Theatre, while exploring the lives of writers who transformed literature. We’ll dive into the world of James Joyce, whose Ulysses made Dublin a literary hub, Oscar Wilde’s wit in The Picture of Dorian Gray, Jonathan Swift’s satirical genius in Gulliver’s Travels, and Bram Stoker, who defined the horror genre with Dracula. Come experience Dublin’s literary history, where these authors’ legacies still echo today.

Adam was incredible. His knowledge of literature and the history of Ireland gave us so many insights plus lots of new books by Irish writers to add to our bookshelves. He had clearly thought through the tour and fashioned it to fit our needs and requests. Everyone in our group raved about how fabulous he was. Thank you, Adam!
My family recently took a three hour tour with Adam and we highly recommend Adam as a tour guide. Adam is extremely knowledgeable about Irish history, and Irish literature, and he kept us engaged and entertained. He was able to tailor our tour to suit two different generations and our different interests very well. In short, Adam's tour was a highlight of our first trip to Ireland.
Adam Ladd arrived punctually. He welcomed all of my family warmly and possessed a wealth of knowledge on the history of Ireland and gave us fascinating information about several Irish writers. We were all impressed and delighted with our time together and could have listened to him for many more hours. Thank you Adam.
Taking a tour with Adam was like walking around Dublin with a friend. He went above and beyond by crafting us a 1916/Dublin Writers tour. He was a wealth of knowledge on Dublin and Irish history, and also gave us some A+ cultural site, restaurant, and pub recommendations for Dublin and the other Irish cities we were visiting on our trip. Most importantly, Adam made us feel at home in a foreign place with his good humor and wit. I can't recommend Adam's tour enough!
• Merrion Square & Oscar Wilde Statue • St. Stephen’s Green • St. Patrick’s Cathedral • Trinity College • Literary Bar • The Abbey Theatre The itinerary primarily covers outdoor sites and does not include admissions to literary landmarks. These additional sites—such as St. Patrick’s Cathedral (where Jonathan Swift was Dean), the Trinity Long Room Library (where Samuel Beckett studied), the Oscar Wilde Centre, or Marsh’s Library (which counted Bram Stoker among its members)—can be added to your tour for an updated price. Let me know if you'd like to customize this tour to include any of these literary sites!
