Hello, my name is Jimmy and I am a Dublin man born and bred. I have been a tour guide in my native city for more than twenty years. I love Dublin and all the attractions we have to offer. This full day private tour of Dublin covers everything that a visitor to our wonderful city could hope for. You will experience the history and culture of Dublin spanning more than 1000 years. Hear how Dublin was invaded by the Vikings in the 8th century and later by the Anglo Normans in the 12th century. Your tour will take you to Dublin Castle, built in the 13th century by King John of England. You will also visit St. Patrick's Cathedral, one of the finest Gothic buildings in Ireland. Kilmainham Gaol is a must see for visitors to Dublin who wish to understand the political and social history of Dublin from the 1700s until the early 20th century. The Guinness Brewery is also one of the worlds top visitor attractions and no visit to Dublin is complete without a visit to the complex, opened in 1759. Georgian Dublin is famous around the world for its colourful doors. I will tell you the stories about how they became a feature of Dublin. You will also visit Trinity College with the Book of Kells exibition.
Jimmy was a fabulous tour guide. He was very knowledgeable; he was able to book us last minute tickets to Kilmainham Gaol and the Pearse Lyons distillery. He made us feel comfortable and shared his love of his country with us. I would definitely recommend him.

Your tour starts the moment we meet at your location. I will give you a quick overview of your day. Dublin Castle : We will do a walk around the grounds of Dublin Castle, where you will get an overview of the history of 1000 years of Dublin. 45 minutes approx St. Patrick's Cathedral: I will give you a private tour of the Cathedral lasting around 1 hour. I will take you to a local pub for lunch. Kilmainham Gaol : A visit to Kilmainham Gaol is highly recommended. Entrance is by guided tour and tickets must be pre booked. The lasts 1 hour. We will do a nice drive through the wonderful Phoenix Park and Georgian Dublin before visiting Trinity College and the magnificent Book of Kells exhibition.
