Welcome to Ireland ! My name is Hogan and I'm delighted to join ToursByLocals from June 2022! I'm a National Tour Guide, based in Dublin and covering the entire island of Ireland. I'm a Chauffeur Guide for small private groups (up to 7 guests), as well as doing Shore Excursions, Walking Tours and personal Genealogy Tours. I'm also a Genealogist with over 35 years experience, which has given me a unique insight into the deep connection people of Irish heritage all over the world feel towards this beautiful island country. There are more than 100 million people around the world who claim Ireland as their ancestral home! But Ireland enchants visitors of every background, not just those of Irish descent, and I love sharing my passion for Ireland with every guest for whom I have the privilege to be their guide or driver guide. Whether it's the Ring of Kerry, the Wild Atlantic Way, or Co. Antrim's stunning Causeway Coast, Ireland has some of the World's most breath-taking coastal scenery, and there are "postcard views" around every corner. And there's much more to Ireland than simply beautiful scenery; our culture, music, and writers have all found world acclaim. Ireland is home to some of the World's finest Stone Age archaeology, and then there's our history: Ireland's story is one of successive arrivals and settlement, invasion, conflict, tragedy and triumph, but ultimately, it's a story about people. It's a story which will beguile you, enchant you, and capture your heart. All my tours can be customized upon request. Come, discover our story - let me help you Fill Your Heart with Ireland! National Tour Guide (White badge), recognized by the Irish Tourist Board. Licensed chauffeur, guiding in my own limousine. None

Overview of your Dublin tour

Come with me to explore the stunning coastline of Dublin's southside, among the most picturesque areas in the Irish Sea. The story of this beautiful area goes back to the Mesolithic, the 'Middle Stone Age', around 8, 000 years ago, and continues through every time period right down to today. Along the way, you'll meet Celtic chieftains, Early Christian monks, Viking slave traders and medieval Norman merchants. And that's just a start! Hear tales of mutineers and pirates, world famous writers, musicians and Hollywood celebrities. Our tour brings us to the county border between Dublin and Wicklow, overlooking the beautiful Killiney Bay, often compared to the Bay of Naples in Italy. We'll have time for a coffee and a snack if you wish, or a walk through the winding medieval streets of Dalkey, home to the 'rich and famous'. You might like to stroll along the Vico Road, or if you're feeling energetic, a short climb up Killiney Hill is rewarded with stunning views over both Dublin Bay and Killiney Bay.

We took a 1/2 day walking tour of Dublin with Hogan which was wonderful. Hogan was so helpful as we had an issue with our disembarkation which caused him to alter our original plans. He is a wonderful person who quickly makes you feel so comfortable. He has so much information and is very passionate about sharing it with you. Do not hesitate to spend an afternoon with him. You will not be disappointed!

STOP. This is who you want. Right here. As your reading this, I can assure you that Hogan embodies absolutely everything ToursbyLocals is all about. It was more like being shown around by a family member than anything else. His knowledge of Ireland, the area and what to show you and how was second to none. My family loved every second of our tour and it was the best part of our entire Ireland visit. You'll not find a more knowledgeable, sincere, nicer person then Hogan. MY HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.

Hogan Magee came highly recommended from our friends, Senior National Geographic Execs, who are world travelers. He accommodated us at the last minute and we found him intelligent, congenial, accomplished, knowledgeable, and sensitive to our needs. Being with him was impactful, and allowed us to see many of Dublin's sites in a short period of time. He gave us an overview of the city and the history of the country of Ireland. He made our day memorable in many different ways.

Hogan was a great guide and our party of 4 had a very fun and informative day. Hogan is much more than a guide. His presentation makes the entire city come alive, puts you in the picture and gives you a feeling of being a resident of the city. Dublin on its own is a great city but Hogan made the city and surrounding area come alive. If your looking to see Dublin with all of its splendor, and most importantly feel it as a local then Hogan is your guy.

How lucky I was to hire Hogan Magee! I'm American, but 100% Irish by DNA; this was my 5th trip to Ireland. I learned more from Hogan than from any other Ireland experience. He is a genealogist, an archeologist, and a charming and thoughtful guide into all things Irish. He drove me around, from Dublin to Dalkey to Newgrange and back, all the while chatting and laughing and awakening in me even more of a connection to the homeland of all my ancestors. Hogan will be my first call for my next trip over!
