Welcome to Ireland ! My name is Hogan and I'm delighted to join ToursByLocals from June 2022! I'm a National Tour Guide, based in Dublin and covering the entire island of Ireland. I'm a Chauffeur Guide for small private groups (up to 7 guests), as well as doing Shore Excursions, Walking Tours and personal Genealogy Tours. I'm also a Genealogist with over 35 years experience, which has given me a unique insight into the deep connection people of Irish heritage all over the world feel towards this beautiful island country. There are more than 100 million people around the world who claim Ireland as their ancestral home! But Ireland enchants visitors of every background, not just those of Irish descent, and I love sharing my passion for Ireland with every guest for whom I have the privilege to be their guide or driver guide. Whether it's the Ring of Kerry, the Wild Atlantic Way, or Co. Antrim's stunning Causeway Coast, Ireland has some of the World's most breath-taking coastal scenery, and there are "postcard views" around every corner. And there's much more to Ireland than simply beautiful scenery; our culture, music, and writers have all found world acclaim. Ireland is home to some of the World's finest Stone Age archaeology, and then there's our history: Ireland's story is one of successive arrivals and settlement, invasion, conflict, tragedy and triumph, but ultimately, it's a story about people. It's a story which will beguile you, enchant you, and capture your heart. All my tours can be customized upon request. Come, discover our story - let me help you Fill Your Heart with Ireland! National Tour Guide (White badge), recognized by the Irish Tourist Board. Licensed chauffeur, guiding in my own limousine. None

Experience the grandeur of Dublin, once 'second city of the Empire', with it's beautiful Georgian streets and magnificent public buildings. This is the city which inspired Nobel Laureate poets William Butler Yeats, George Bernard Shaw, and Samuel Beckett, and the childhood playground of Oscar Wilde, the most celebrated wit of his time. Dublin is also central to the work of James Joyce, author of Ulysses, considered by many literary experts to be the finest novel ever written in the English language. Come with me as we explore the city, before heading south along Dublin Bay towards Wicklow, the 'Garden of Ireland'. Our first stop is a garden of some renown - the breathtaking Powerscourt Garden, voted the 3rd Most Beautiful Garden in the World by National Geographic. After Lunch, we cross the Wicklow Mountains to the tranquility of Glendalough, a beautiful glacial valley where St Kevin established his monastery in 555AD. Walk among the ruins, and stroll to the heavenly Upper Lake, before heading back to Dublin

I highly recommend taking this tour with Hogan. Seeing the countryside provides a great contrast to the city of Dublin. The Wicklow Mountains, Kevin's monastery, Glendolough, Powerscourt Gardens are all so beautiful! We truly enjoyed seeing all of these places. Hogan is a ×order full guide who tailors the trip to meet your needs. He is thoughtful, courteous and so very kind. You cannot go wrong spending the day on this tour with him.
Hogan is a marvelous guide and we thoroughly enjoyed our day with him. His knowledge of Dublin and Irish history and customs is outstanding. We saw so many interesting sights (bog bodies, dead zoo, house Hogan grew up in, to name a few) that we never would have known existed but for our tour with him and learned more about Ireland than we could have imagined possible in a day while having a wonderful time. We highly recommend Hogan. J and J Vail Colorado

My husband and I took the Dublin tour with Hogan. It was a great day. We went out into the country side and drove over the Wicklow Mountains. We stopped in a little village and saw a quarry that the stone for many building was cut. We went to ancient monastery ruins. Hogan was able to tell us about Irelands history ,religion, and archeology. We visited Powerscourt that was a beautiful estate. Then went back to Dublin and had a drive through town. Trip ended with a beautiful rainbow over the harbor.
Hogan was a wonderful guide! He drove us through the beautiful countryside to Glendalough and Powerscourt and explained everything. He had a great knowledge and appreciation of the history of the area. We are so glad we took this tour rather than the big bus tours. He got us back to our ship in plenty of time. I highly recommend Hogan as a guide!
This tour takes about 8 hours, but can be tailored to suit your wishes. I will collect you at your hotel or cruise ship, or whatever location suits you. I suggest starting between 9am and 10am so that you are back at your hotel in plenty of time to relax before dinner, but the exact collection and return times can be tailored to your wishes. We start our day with a sightseeing tour of Dublin, with the option to stop for a short stroll at any point. We then head south along Dublin Bay, through 'Dublin's Riviera' and into Wicklow, where we stop to avail of lunch if desired, and a stroll around the "World's 3rd Most Beautiful Garden" as voted by National Geographic. A 40 minute drive across the Wicklow Mountains brings us to the ruins of St Kevin's Monastic City, site of Christian worship for 1, 500 years! Carved out by glaciers during the Ice Age, this magical valley abounds in history, but it is the extraordinary tranquility which makes it an unforgettable place to visit. Return time to Dublin is 80 minutes.
