Welcome to Ireland ! My name is Hogan and I'm delighted to join ToursByLocals from June 2022! I'm a National Tour Guide, based in Dublin and covering the entire island of Ireland. I'm a Chauffeur Guide for small private groups (up to 7 guests), as well as doing Shore Excursions, Walking Tours and personal Genealogy Tours. I'm also a Genealogist with over 35 years experience, which has given me a unique insight into the deep connection people of Irish heritage all over the world feel towards this beautiful island country. There are more than 100 million people around the world who claim Ireland as their ancestral home! But Ireland enchants visitors of every background, not just those of Irish descent, and I love sharing my passion for Ireland with every guest for whom I have the privilege to be their guide or driver guide. Whether it's the Ring of Kerry, the Wild Atlantic Way, or Co. Antrim's stunning Causeway Coast, Ireland has some of the World's most breath-taking coastal scenery, and there are "postcard views" around every corner. And there's much more to Ireland than simply beautiful scenery; our culture, music, and writers have all found world acclaim. Ireland is home to some of the World's finest Stone Age archaeology, and then there's our history: Ireland's story is one of successive arrivals and settlement, invasion, conflict, tragedy and triumph, but ultimately, it's a story about people. It's a story which will beguile you, enchant you, and capture your heart. All my tours can be customized upon request. Come, discover our story - let me help you Fill Your Heart with Ireland! National Tour Guide (White badge), recognized by the Irish Tourist Board. Licensed chauffeur, guiding in my own limousine. None

Departing Dublin, we head westwards towards Ireland's world famous Wild Atlantic Way, a stunning coastal route that includes the majestic Cliffs of Moher. The Cliffs themselves are incredible, rising up to 702ft (215m) in a sheer vertical face at their highest point, towering above the Atlantic Ocean below. Many scenes in movies and TV series have been filmed here, from The Princess Bride to Harry Potter. They are famed also for the incredible views they offer, from Mount Brandon in Co Kerry in the south to the the Twelve Bens mountains of Connemara in the north, and the Aran Islands of Inis Mor, Inis Mean and Inis Oirr in between. We have the option to stop in a couple of other locations as well, including the pretty fishing village of Kinvara, Co Galway, and the famous Bunratty Castle in Co Clare, not to mention the chance to see the otherworldly landscapes of The Burren where flora normally only found in high altitude locations grow alongside plants from subtropical regions.
Tours are personalized and can be amended as you wish, but the following itinerary is a good example of what awaits; Dublin to Bunratty: Collecting from your location we travel across Ireland to Bunratty Castle where we stop for a coffee and rest room break, a visit to the Castle and Folk Village, or the famous woolen mills across the road. Bunratty to Cliffs of Moher: Along the way we pass by the world-famous Lahinch Golf Club, stopping for lunch in the village of Liscannor, after which the majesty of the Cliffs of Moher awaits you in the afternoon. We then drive thru the Burren, one of the largest Karst landscapes in the world with a stop at the iconic 5, 800 year old Poulnabrone Dolmen, Ireland's oldest dated megalithic monument. Our final photo stop of the day is at Dunguaire Castle, a 500-year-old castle picturesquely sited on a small promontory and surrounded by water on all sides! An optional sheepdog demonstration can be substituted for one of the above stops - small additional cost applies.
