I offer day trips from Dublin to the likes of Wicklow, Kilkenny and Kildare. Tours of the midlands cover Laois, Offaly and Westmeath while in 'the sunny south-east' I can take you to Wexford and Waterford. I have been operating as a driver/guide for over 10 years. I am a qualified guide, approved by Failte Ireland, our national tourism agency. Your transport will be a Mercedes V-Class with leather seats and air-conditioning. I am passionate about my country, its history and its people and am proud to have been able to demonstrate its beauty and culture to so many people in the past. Always flexible, I am able to take you 'off the beaten track' to show some of the hidden gems of Ireland or any areas and places that might be of special interest to you. Overview of your Dublin tour
My tour of Wicklow will bring you to one of the most beautiful parts of Ireland and one of my favorite places to visit. I will take you to beautiful homes and gardens, show you some stunning landscape and you will discover why this area is known as 'The Garden of Ireland'. This area is steeped in history and played an important part in Ireland's formation from the ancient Monastic City of Glendalough to the historic Powerscourt House and Gardens and Ireland's oldest woolen mill dating from the early 1700s. My love for this area allows me to show you it's true beauty and experience much of the heritage and culture. Situated on Dublin's doorstep, County Wicklow will be a delight for the traveler to experience.

Don was clear about where we’d meet (he picked us up at the airport), and the van was very comfortable. Don was informative and drove us to great sites in county Wicklow, and dropped us off at our hotel in Kilkenny. It was a wonderful welcome start to our Ireland adventure.

My wife and I were blessed to spend the day with Don touring Kilkenny and Wicklow. Don was kind and accommodating from the very start. He gave an informative narration as we drove to Kilkenny, a personal walking tour of the town and he allowed us time to explore and shop as we pleased. Along the way to Wicklow, he answered questions, made sure we were comfortable, suggested a lunch stop at a perfect cafe and provided an opportunity to view some of the most beautiful landscapes and sites we have ever seen. We could never have been able to get this type of experience on our own and are so thankful to Don for his first class service .

Your Dublin tour itinerary
Pick up in Dublin City at 9am. Powerscourt House & Gardens - a short audio-visual tells the history of the house and it various families. The optional garden tour is self-guided and offers amazing scenery, formal gardens and rambling walks. At Glendalough call to the visitor centre (optional) to see/read about the life of St Kevin and his followers - then visit the ancient ruins nearby. Lunch at Glendalough or at a nearby country pub. At Avoca Woolen Mills you may take a guided tour and experience the skilled workers on site producing their wonderful array of blankets, scarves and much more. Otherwise just relax and enjoy the tranquil location, great shopping and excellent cafe. (seasonal opening). Return to Dublin approx 5pm. This is an 8-hour day trip. Remember that it is your tour and I can amend the day to suit your needs or it can be combined with some of my day trips in other parts of the country for a longer tour.
