My name is Nicola and I'm a Dubliner. I'm passionate about my city and love to show travelers the Dublin I love. What I enjoy is sharing the plentiful stories that the layers of Dublin's history offer, as well as an insight into the Dublin I live in today, a thriving capital on the edge of Europe that somehow still manages to hold on to its local charm. The neighborhoods within the city are packed full of independent cafés, restaurants, and pubs, and taking travelers on their own journey of discovery through the city is what I like to do most. I'm proud of our Irish writers both past and present and enjoy a good conversation with travellers who like to read too. I see the city from the point of view of an art lover and find that statues and other public artworks are a perfect springboard from which to tell a good story about our city. I am a qualified Irish National Tour guide I have a Degree in history, politics and classical studies from UCD and also a Masters Degree in Art in the Contemporary World from the Irish National College of Art and Design I speak Spanish fluently I do not have any restrictions in regard to my guiding, I can offer a full range of experiences I do not have the special license required in Ireland to drive tourists in a car, van or bus.

This tour promises to be a great way to see the literary spots of interest in Dublin while in conversation with a literary and Joycean enthusiast from Dublin. Nicola , your local guide will show you the literary places of interest in the city. You'll get a chance to chat about your Irish ( and other ) favorite writers both past and present. You'll get plenty of ideas about what museums and bookshops you might like to return to to spend more time. This tour is sure to indulge those who love to talk about books and encourage you to read more Irish writers - of which we are so proud. The itinerary is flexible, for any changes please let me know.
This tour starts at the front entrance of Trinity College ( because it's gorgeous! ) and then a visit to the delightful Seamus Heaney Museum. Over the north side of the River Liffey, we will see the statue of Joyce and where he once worked. Passing the Winding Stair bookshop and over the river once again at the Ha'penny bridge - we will walk towards Dawson Street and the oldest bookshop in Dublin, Then Sweny's pharmacy where Leopold Bloom bought his lemon soap ( still on sale ) . Oscar Wilde's home and wonderful tribute in marble. St Stephen's Green gifts us more Joyce and a tribute to WB Yeats and we finish up and MOLI ( Museum of Irish Literature) where we can stop for a coffee and a chat before you go on to visit the museum and the very first copy of Ulysses, if you wish.
