Hello and welcome! I have been leading tours of my native city for almost a decade and am at my happiest showing guests the highways and hidden byways, weaving tales from over a thousand years of history. The Vikings, Norman and Georgian periods are amongst my favourites as are the writers of this UNESCO city of literature. I have extensive guiding experience working in Cathedrals, Interpretive centres and leading walking tours. My guiding philosophy is to first inform but also entertain using a combination of factual information, anecdotes, visual aids and lots of humour, learn a little, laugh a lot! All my tours are bespoke and take into account the interests and needs of my guests. I look forward to guiding you around my city soon. I graduated with Distinction from Dublinia, a centre of Viking and Medieval studies. Among the subjects covered were Archaeology, Folklore, Local history, Irish culture and Communications. I have extensive guiding experience and have created and delivered bespoke tours to a wide spectrum of audiences. I am a member of the Independent Tour Guides of Ireland and fully insured. I am not a driver but can accompany you in a car or coach if required. Certain attractions like Dublin Castle, Kilmainham Goal have their own in-house guides, so I do not guide there but can accompany you.

A walk designed to explain and investigate the traumatic events that occured in Dublin between 1916 to 1923. Starting with gun-running and the fight for home rule, the threat of civil war and the eventual outbreak of WW1. Visit sites associated with the fighting the shocked the British Empire. Dublin Castle, the GPO, Liberty Hall and the Moore Street battleground. Learn of the executions and deportations that laid the foundations of the War of Independance and subsequent conflict. The Anglo-Irish treaty, the partition of Ireland and tragic Civil War that ensued will be explained. These are some of the most important events that shaped modern Ireland and still reverberate today.
Our tour with Liam was excellent. He provided in depth history and knowledge of the Easter rising and walked us to important sites associated with this event-even pointing out still existing bullet damage to structures and statues.Highly recommended tour and guide!!!!!

What an informative and fun tour. Liam met us in Dublin and then we walked through the center city, learning about history (especially the Easter Rebellion and Irish independence), and literature. He left us with a sense of where things were and what else we should be doing in the city. Unfortunately, because our ship was there on a Monday, many museums were closed. But that made walking through town all the more interesting and vital. And LIam is charming!
Sites visited are all associated with events that occured in the Easter Rebellion, War of Independence and Civil War. Starting in Trinity College we then visit the following sites- St. Stephen's Green, Dublin Castle, Temple Bar, Liffey River, O'Connell Street, Moore Street, Rotunda Hospital and Liberty Hall.
