Later on, upon receiving my high school diploma, I eagerly embraced the next chapter of my educational adventure by pursuing a degree in Archaeology at the prestigious University of Crete. Since my early years, delving into literature about the renowned Minoan Civilization and their architectural wonders fueled my determination to pursue a career as an archaeologist. Now I have the priviledge to share my experiences with visitors from all over the world and guide them to this majestic place. Together we will explore the symbol-laden artifacts of the Minoans architectural marvels, intricate frescoes, and sophisticated engineering that define this archaeological gem. Let the myths of Europa and king Minos breathe life into these storied stones. Step into the ancient labyrinth where Minotaur roamed and heroes triumphed. My goal for this tour is to make you envision the daily life of the Minoans, learn about their religious practices but also for their everyday life. Mariella's knowledge of the Palace on Knossos as well as Minoan civilization in general was impressive. She was very knowledgeable and explained the history of the Minoans clearly. She covered the Palace thoroughly and everyone in our group were more than satisfied with the tour. Would happily recommend her.
Mariella was a delight to tour with. She is very knowledgeable and provided so many more insights than we would have gotten from an audio tour or even other guides who don’t have her educational background. She really brought Knossos and Minoan civilization to life for us. Before our tour, she provided excellent instructions for us to follow upon arrival and was kind enough to provide recommendations for our time on Crete (which were excellent!) Marielle was a wonderful guide and the Palace of Knossus was made even more unforgettable for our family by her insights into Minoan culture, architecture, and religion, and her extensive knowledge of the history of its excavation and restoration. Our family of 6 thoroughly enjoyed touring the site with her. She was informative, friendly, receptive to questions, and gracious throughout the tour.
