Welcome to Crete. My name is Ed and I am proud to say that Crete is my home and I would like to take you on a private tour to show you the real side of Crete and learn about local life and traditions. I have been working in the tourist industry, for the last 23 years. I have had the pleasure of meeting and befriending people from all over the world. Overview of your Heraklion tour

Embark on this full day tour to explore the south Crete , this tour combines a bit of everything, old traditional villages where time seems to have stopped long ago , Phaistos Palace, Archeological site , Matala beach and caves, wineries and the valleys with olive groves . Phaistos Palace and is the second most important archaeological site in Crete from the Minoan civilization. We can visit a winery for wine tasting and learn about the local wines .(OPTIONAL. Matala Caves, another stop in our tour, those caves were used as Roman tombs 2000 years ago and a home for the hippies in the 70s. Next to the caves it’s a beautiful sandy beach so you can spend an hour or so swimming if you wish . We can stop at one of the many taverns for lunch in Matala or stop in a village near by . OPTIONAL I personally love nature and history and I enjoy sharing it with you so join me on this tour to see a side of Crete that many turists miss. I am open to customize the tour on your wishes and needs.

Our guide Ed was absolutely wonderful……very knowledgeable, very easy to be with, helpful with both my daughter and husband and their mobility issues….. He gave a complete tour of South Crete and took us to charming small mountain villages with locals and not a lot of tourists. We had lunch with smiling grandmother prepared Greek casseroles that were exceptional. Ed has an olive grove and makes his own olive oil that he gave us as a momento. We have traveled extensively ……my husband has been to almost a hundred countries…..and Ed is a superb guide!

Ed was perfect! We gave him a basic guide of the things we wanted to do and are and he made it happen and added in some must do and see for us as well. He was friendly and kept us entertained. We were able to get a great overview of the island in the short time we had with him , which we couldn't have done on our own! Thank you Ed! Ed was an incredible tour guide! The weather wasn't great and he rolled with it to give us a great day. We mentioned that one in our group had a dream of making pottery, so he brought us to a small shop to make our own. He showed us around. Personalized everything. - Pick up from your hotel or another location around Heraklion prefecture. - Stop on the way for a coffee. - Visit and walk through the old narrow streets the old village of St Thomas . - Explore Phaistos Palace. OPTIONAL - Visit Matala village, caves , beach and get the chance to swim in the south cost . - Visit a winery for wine tasting . - Stop for lunch in a village near by ,OPTIONAL -Time to go back to your hotel or another drop off can be pre-arranged around Heraklion area .
