HERZLICH WILLKOMMEN IN DRESDEN! I am a fully licensed local guide, also allowed to guide in all museums, gardens, national parks and castles as well as some churches in Dresden and Saxony - Frauenkirche church in particular - and an official member of "Tourismusverband Dresden e. V. " and our German national "Bundesverband der Gästeführer in Deutschland e. V. ". As president of "IG Guides Dresden-Elbland" I share my expertise with six very passionate fellow-guides. I also guide in whole East Germany: Colditz, Bautzen, Gorlitz, Wittenberg, Weimar, Naumburg, and e. g. thematic Luther-Bach-Goethe tours. I graduated from university with diploma in History, Anglistics and Germanistics. However, I am well known as a humorous tourist guide from whose rich knowledge of local events in the present and past and lots of historical anecdotes you will be impressed and never bored! You will learn as much about "History" as about "Herstory" and what "Anglo-Saxon" and "Dollar" has to do with Saxony. Curious? Soon you will get the answer! I would be glad to guide you on compact city tours, day trips, 3-day excursions or even as a tour operator - accompanying your tour completely. Dresden, the splendid residential baroque capital of Saxony, is exactly on the axe Berlin-Prague, heart of Central Europe. You can book me as a guide commenting the way between these two cities. Nazi History, Communist Epoch, Peaceful Revolution - thrilling information on the way. Please read my DRESDEN BLOG (www.toursbylocals.com/blog, then choose "THE DRESDEN MIRACLE") to get the flavour of my great city! - University diploma in History, Anglistics, Germanistics - Special guide licenses in most museums, palaces, churches, gardens and national parks. - "Be a Better Guide" training - President of IG Guides Dresden-Elbeland - Member of Germany's national tourist guide association "Bundesverband der Gästeführer in Deutschland e.V." and "Tourismusverband Dresden e.V." I am not licensed to drive paying customers, but I can hire a licensed driver if requested by the customer. prices on demand.

Silvia is an excellent guide. Her passion for Jewish Dresden came across in her comprehensive knowledge of the historical and cultural sites - Alter Jüdischer Friedhof, the Deportation site at the Bahnhof Dresden-Neustadt well as tasty treats specific found in the Dresdener Molkerei, and for lunch the tasty Saxon Quarkkäulchen.

Silvia has an impressive depth of knowledge about Dresden's history and Jewish history as well as contemporary issues, and her style was very friendly, accessible, and flexible. She customized our fascinating and engaging tour to our interests and she was a fun person to spend an afternoon with! Silvia can also do genealogical research across all of Germany and tailor regional tours to family heritage.
