If falling in love with a city and moving mountains to be able to live there counts, then I am definitely a true-blue local. It was love at first sight and I have lived in Dresden since 2009. In these years I have explored its cobbled streets, studied the history, delved into its past to unearth stories and have immersed myself in its present. I am, frankly speaking, besotted with my adopted city. A post graduate in Psychology, I worked in the field of counselling for many years and am now a passionate historian as well. My mother, who was taken aback by my new career choice, decided that her daughter was now working in the field of psycho-history! Turns out, surprisingly, that there is actually such a term used for those who examine the 'why' of history and not just the facts. Well, I like that very much indeed! My tours reflect my desire to find connections, join the dots, look at the bigger context and the human motivations that shape events. This very drive was the one that led me to create the Third Reich Tour and also study the post WW2 period and the impact of the Cold War on Saxony. For those guests who do not want to delve into such aspects, my tours can be fun, interesting and relaxed as well. Over the years, I have studied continuously and gained permission to guide in the various museums of Dresden. Therefore if you wish to combine the tour of the city with a visit to the Royal Palace or Old Masters Gallery, or even the Stasi Museum, it isn't a problem at all. Or we could leave the city behind and undertake an excursion to a neighbouring sight such as Schloss Pliinitz, Saxon Switzerland, Meissen or Leipzig. In a nutshell, lets work it out together so that you can make the most out of your stay in Dresden, Saxony. Write to me! Master's degree in Psychology. Certified guide in Dresden City and member of the Dresden Guides Association as well as of the Federal Association of Guides in Germany. In addition to being a certified guide for Dresden city, I also hold the following licences: The New Green Vault Museum in Dresden The Old Masters Gallery, Dresden The Meissen Porcelain Factory Schloss Pillnitz I am also allowed to guide in the Stasi Memorial in Dresden and can guide you through the cities of Meissen and Leipzig as well. Due to constraints, I cannot act as a driver-guide. I can arrange for a car and driver. My German fluency is conversational but asking me to do a tour in German would be torturous for both you and me :-) Let's stay with English! PS: In case you see me marked as ‘unavailable or busy’ during a weekday when you are here, please do check with me anyway. I may be able to make myself available.

The beauty of Dresden is a gentle and rich one, and lives in its squares ringed by iconic buildings, the tall steeples and towers of its churches, airy courtyards and last but not least- in the galleries of its sumptuous museums. Thus, the traveller who arrives in Dresden with just one or only a few days at disposal must use their time well to sample all of its glories: for to visit Dresden without visiting one of it's cultural treasure-houses is to do it injustice. Start with a 1. 5 hours walking tour to learn about Dresden's multi-layered story and see the historic city centre. Next, combine this with a visit to one of it's incomparable museums. Choose between these two: The Royal Palace with its spectacular treasury art, thematically diverse museum rooms, armoury, and newly reconstructed Royal State Rooms. The Old Masters Gallery of paintings and sculptures. These rooms filled with the masters and are incomparable and overwhelming- a visual delight.
During the walking tour we will walk past and see from the outside the following: Palace square Royal Cathedral Theater Platz and Semper Opera, Dresden Zwinger The Procession of Princes Church of Our Lady Then we will enter the museum of your choice- either The Royal Palace or the Old Masters Gallery, where we will spend 1. 5 hours studying the collection and the artworks/objects . I have the license to guide in both museums. Please note that the Royal Palace is closed on Tuesdays The Old Masters is closed on Mondays.

The city centre of Dresden that has most of the iconic landmarks is accessible only by walking. So a pair of comfortable walking shoes is all you need for the walking tour.
Airport: ,Cruise: ,ByGuide: I would prefer to begin in the city centre at the Royal Palace. However I am willing to pick you up from elsewhere as long as it is near the city centre. Just write in and we can discuss it.
