There is a story behind each piece of art. With a collection of some 380 000 exhibits, you definitely need a local guide to help you get the most out of your visit to the Louvre. Come and join me in this feast of artistic gastronomy to savour one of the world's greatest collections of all times. I will lead you through the splendid galleries of sculptures, paintings, crown jewels and more set on a fabulous architectural backdrop. We will go through some of the household name master pieces, such as the Monalisa, the Venus of Milos and the Liberty Guiding the People. Through their stories, you will have a better understanding of the cultural contexts and history of arts. In its 800 years existence, the Louvre has evolved from a medieval fortress to a royal palace then a modern museum. Its history is closely related to that of France, adding to it the invaluable collection of arts make the monument an absolute incontournable in Paris. *Please note that the Louvre museum is closed on Tuesday
The Louvre visit will cover the following: - The Medieval Louvre - Greco-Roman sculptures, including the Venus of Milos and the Winged Victory of Samothrace - The Apollo Gallery for the Crown Jewels and the baroque decorations - Salon Carré and the Grand Galerie for early and high Italian Renaissance paintings - The Red Rooms for the 19th century French Neoclassic and Romanticism paintings - The Michelangelo room for the 16th to 19th century italien sculptures * if you want to see other collections in the Louvre, it can be arranged.
