Versailles Palace private guided tour - skip the line

Emilie was fantastic. Her knowledge and assistance started way before the tour. Let me explain. We planned a river cruise for months, but when we went to book our tours from the ship, Versailles, top on our list, was already sold out. I had used tours by Locals before with very good success so using them again was a no brainer. In researching Tours by Locals, we found Emilie and messaged her our desire to tour Versailles as well as our anxiety of how to accomplish this on our own. We were uncertain if we could pull this off as the ship was in Conflans in the morning and was leaving to return to Paris after lunch. Emilie provided the easy details of how this could be done with little worry and assured us we would be back to Paris with no issues, so we booked with Emilie. What a great decision. The directions provided by Emilie were flawless to getting to Versailles. Emilie met us on time and despite me going to the wrong meeting place she found our group (4) and started what turned out to be a fantastic tour. Emilies knowledge of the history of the building, the Kings and their families was superb. She guided through a crowded building and the grounds with ease. Each stop we made was packed with history and details of the rooms. As other tour guides whisked their groups through Emilie took the time to point out some of the more subtle and finer details of things like paintings, furniture and the usages of the many rooms, gardens and various buildings off in the distance we could see but did not visit. When the tour was over Emilie was also taking the same train back to Paris. Now she could have got us to the station and sent us on our way. Nope, Emile rode the train and continued with details along the train ride with things we could do, see and dine back in the area of the train station we were arriving. The stop she selected to part ways was one stop away from where our boat was docking. Perfect! We thought we were going to have to forgo Versailles. Emilie made a "bucket list stop" of our France trip fulfilled with a most memorable day and experience for us. Can't thank Emilie enough and would highly recommend her for your tour! Wonderful tour with Emilie!

Our lovely guide Emilie wasted no time in getting us on the Metro to Versailles to visit the Palace of Versailles. We had a half day tour and relished in the beauty and history of not only the Palace but the wonderful Gardens and surrounding residences. Emilie had a vast knowledge and her approach was friendly and relaxed. Our only regret was not spending a full day to enjoy and absorb more of what is a remarkable historical site . Thank you Emilie for making the tour one that we will never forget.
