Half day tour your style! , A Private Customized Tour Giza / Cairo

My husband & I are experienced international travelers, & hiring Wael as our guide is one of the best travel decisions we've made. Wael took the time to take our interests into consideration, and planned a trip that was incredible. From the moment he picked us up on our first day from the hotel, we liked his energetic attitude, & his passion for history. Wael listened to us, told us wonderful stories of history to engage us in the places we were seeing, and made history come alive. We would not have seen or experienced a quarter of the things we did without him. We did the normal spots: Pyramids, Sphinx, Mummies, which are great, but he took us to spots more off the beaten path we wouldn't have seen otherwise. Our first night, he gave us an option of going to a Sufi dance show, neither of us knew anything about it, but we loved it! Then we walked to a market for locals, and saw beautiful Ramadan decorations. The traffic and the crowds in Cairo can be chaotic to say the least, but with Wael we both felt very safe at all times, and we relaxed and engulfed ourselves in the experience. Wael was very patient with me when I would change our plans, which I did a few times. He was also calm and kind when I lost my ticket to the Civilization Museum not two seconds after he told me "Do not lose this ticket" and somehow was able to get us in despite my carelessness! He took us to so many wonderful places, the Step Pyramids, the colossal statue of Ramses II in Memphis, the Coptic Quarter featuring several amazing and ancient places of worship, a carpet making school, the Great Pyramids complex, the various museums, markets, and he picked wonderful restaurants. He would give us options, but we learned early on that his suggestion for dining options would give us an Egyptian cuisine experience to remember from fine sit-down dining, local buffets, to more fast food to street food, it was all delicious. Wael does walk fast, so just bring good walking shoes! But he always made sure we were with him, and never left us straggling!  Spending time with Wael was a joy. He really embraced my constant questions and occasional silliness, and tuned his oration to our interests. We saw old Cairo, the ancient historical grand sites, and got to experience modern Cairo - all thanks to Wael. He is upbeat, a great teacher, and was able to help us adjust our tour when things didn't go to plan (massive traffic jam meaning we had to change up our plans) but somehow made it turn out better than it could have otherwise! Wael is also a great photographer, he took some excellent shots of us, and if I can get a few to add to my review I will upload them! If you are considering hiring someone for your trip to Egypt, hire Wael. He will make this a trip of a lifetime!! His will put fun into your educational trip! We could not be more grateful for the time we spent with him, and are planning to come back and have him give us a tour of Alexandria and Luxor!

Wael is an exceptional tour guide. It's actually my first time using ToursByLocals and I honestly was hesitant about this platform. I typically go through Viator, but a friend recommended it. I love the photos of the guides and the bio's they write. I believe a picture says a thousand words and writing of the bio also sets the tone.
