Coptic Cairo, Civilization Museum & Saint Simon Monastery - Full Day Tour

This tour will definitely be one of the highlights of our time in Cairo. The introduction to Coptic Cairo showed us an interesting side of the city and its history, and the guide’s thoughtful insights provided a unique perspective. The Civilization Museum is an amazing facility; the Mummies exhibit is certainly not for everyone, but tastefully depicts an important part of Egyptian history; the various displays focussed on the impacts on civilization conveyed significant themes in easily digestible bites; and the Tapestry portion was fascinating. We appreciated that Radwa showed us the highlights and then provided some time to explore on our own. Garbage City was unbelievable, and we were grateful that the driver navigated the chaos so we could attempt to process what we were seeing. The cave churches were a pleasant surprise, and once again our experience was augmented by our guide’s descriptions. Radwa was a superb tour facilitator and guide. She was extremely understanding and patient when our personal circumstances delayed our departure, and even went out of the way to ensure we could purchase emergency supplies. She offered us lunch options and when we expressed a preference for local Egyptian fare she took us to an authentic restaurant we would never have found on our own and helped us understand the menu. Throughout the day she provided insights and demonstrated a deep knowledge and passion for her city and the sights we visited. We were pleased to travel in a clean, newer vehicle, and appreciative of the driver’s professional skills as he manoeuvred through the unbelievable Cairo traffic. We are more than happy to submit this positive evaluation, especially as we were politely reminded to (and not pushed to pen a 5-star review).

Radwa did a great job getting us to two main attractions in Cairo. Coptic area was very interesting and her detailed explanations were outstanding. Civilization Museum was great and Radwa again gave us great insights and also provided some time for us to explore on our own. St Simons monastery was a real treat and a true hidden gem. The garbage city is something special as well. She also was very flexible with our schedule which was nice. Highly recommend this tour.

Radwa was a knowledgeable and wonderful guide. We asked, and she was more than willing, to modify the tour somewhat to include other or different sites in addition to the regular tour. We also used her services for her Egyptian Food Tour and we very satified. We would highly recommend her.
