Once a history teacher, now a passionate guide uncovering Copenhagen's hidden stories and scenic wonders since early 2014. Welcoming countless tourists and schoolchildren, my tours aren't about endless facts and figures, but about discovering the tales tucked behind facades and in hidden alleys. A guided tour is an experience—a resonating story—and Copenhagen is brimming with such tales. Themes like Hans Christian Andersen's legacy or pivotal periods like the 1600s, marked by King Christian IV's grand constructions, offer captivating journeys. Best explored on foot or bike, Copenhagen's charm is its compactness, making almost every corner accessible even on short visits. Opt for the 'Hafnia' tour for a comprehensive introduction or let's tailor one that fits your interests. Public transportation also offers an excellent way to explore. Explore the suggested tours for inspiration, and I look forward to welcoming you to wonderful Copenhagen!" Qualified schoolteacher with 18 years experience - main subjects: danish, history and social studies. A seasoned storyteller - "Storyteller of the month" for april 2017 as selected by the "Storytellers in Denmark" Association. I do not drive and only on rare occations do I arrange tours by car or bus.

Take a stroll through the streets of "the most wonderful city in all the world" - according to Andersen. From the tiny, crowded residence city of the autocratic kingdom in 1819, when the poor teenager first arrived, to the bustling, rapidly expanding capitol of a young democracy of 1875 when he died - famous as he had predicted. The story is almost too much like a fairytale - but of course it must be. He lived it, and he wrote it. Three times. I have done this tour more than 200 times, and I am still not tired of him. If you prefer to do this tour by bike, rickshaw or whatever, let me know.
The tour follows in the poet's footsteps from he first set foot in Copenhagen on September 6th, 1819 till the day he published his first fairytales in 1835. We'll see places he lived (and perhaps get to sit on his bed?), the mansions he frequented, and hear about his struggle to fulfill his own prophecy - that he would one day become famous. Sights we'll pass on this tour include: The City Hall The City Court and jail The Christiansborg palace (house of parliament) The canals The old butchers market at Saint Nikolaj square The central square Kongens Nytorv (King's New square) The Academy of fine arts The old harbor area of Nyhavn

This is a walking tour - with plenty of places to rest our weary feet along the way.
