Visit the old and new parts of Copenhagen and sense the atmosphere of this laid back city. Discover why we are known as the world's happiest people. I love sharing knowledge about my home country and about Copenhagen, the city where I was born and where I live. Telling the history about old Denmark and showing the sights, the landscape and my favorite spots is what attracts me about being a tourist guide. I qualified as a tourist guide from the Tourist Guide Diploma Program at Roskilde University in 1996 and I have been teaching there too. In 2006, I obtained a Master degree in History from the University of Copenhagen. For a couple of years, I have lived and worked in England. I teach coming tourist guides at Nordic Guide Academy and I combine my work there with working as a freelance tourist guide in Copenhagen and with Copenhagen as a starting point. Having been a tourist guide for 25 years, I have extensive experience and I have guided for just one person as well as for larger groups and for people having many different nationalities as English is my guide language. It is always my aim to give a positive and memorable experience. I emphasize to show and to tell about both the old and the new Denmark and living conditions before and now. Most of my tours are walking tours and/or using public transport, as I wish to participate in a sustainable future for our planet. However, I also do tours by in and out of Copenhagen. Tours can be adapted to your specific interests, needs and time. - Driving along The Danish Riviera. - Short photo stop by the beautiful baroque Fredensborg Palace, used as a residential palace by the Royal Family. - Inside visit at the magnificent Frederiksborg Castle, a 400-year old renaissance castle that now house the National History Museum. - It will take us approx. 50 minutes to drive back to Copenhagen. The tour can be customized according to your preferences, please inquire.
Henryette is very knowledgeable and friendly. She created a tour that was exactly what we wanted. She made special arrangements to accommodate one family member in a wheelchair so they could participate in the whole experience. her delivery was tuned to our interests and our level of background knowledge. A very good way to spend the day.
My clients asked Henriette to put together a tour outside of the city that would give them a taste of North Zealand. They also wanted it to incorporate Jewish heritage and history in Denmark. Henriette, as always, overdelivered. She had organized an excellent driver for the day to join them. They visited a few sitesof Jewish historical importance before leaving Copenhagen and then continued north to Helsingor and Gilleleje. Henriette provided them with excellent historical context, present day insights in the manner of a friend who was hosting friends. While a full day, Henriette found the right balance of activity and down time and it was an excellent experience!
We had a great day with Henriette!! She was early and waiting for us at the train station and the whole trip was seamless even with it being a holiday. The 2 castles we saw were not crowed and she was very knowledgeable whit her insight. Would rec o end her to anyone….
On this trip by car to North Zealand, we will drive along the scenic coastal road also known as Denmark's Riviera. Our first stop is in the town Fredensborg, where we will make a photo stop by Fredensborg Palace. The Palace was built by King Frederik 4th in the early 18th century as a hideaway place for him and his new wife Anne Sophie. Our next stop will be to visit Frederiksborg Castle. The renaissance castle was built 400 years ago as a status symbol by King Christian 4th. You wll no doubt admire the Castle Church, The Audience Room and The Knights Hall. After the inside visit, we drive back to Copenhagen.
