Hi I'm Gabriel, born '71, I've lived in Copenhagen for almost 20 years and I am a Danish citizen, I know my way around my city. It's a beautiful place, and I'm really looking forward to introducing you to its rich and varied life and history. Maybe you've always wanted to visit Copenhagen, perhaps you have something in mind that you particularly want to see. Well, that's absolutely no problem. I'm here to help and give you the best time I possibly can. Get in touch, and we'll tailor a tour just for you. In Copenhagen, everything is within reach. It's easy to get around the city by bike, but if you prefer I'm happy to transport you by car. If you're planning to spend a few days here, I'd strongly suggest that you consider travelling further afield, and I'm happy to organise a day trip that can take in any number of historic sites and attractions. There are Viking remains and ships, Hamlet's Castle and various Royal Palaces all within easy reach. We can even pop across the channel to Sweden! I'm a licensed Tour Guide, educated at Roskilde University, with 15 years' experience conducting tours within museums and attractions and throughout the Copenhagen itself. It's my city, and I love showing it off. I look forward to sharing it with you. Place to visit: Copenhagen, Roskilde, Malmo, Lund. . . The tour can be customized according to your preferences, please inquire. Tare a few sights you have to see when you visit any city. The landmarks that you're familar with and that people will ask you about when you get home. In Copenhagen, that means a trip to the Little Mermaid, who sits looking out to sea on the coastline just slightly north of the city centre. As well as paying her a visit, we'll check out Nyhavn: the docks where Copenhagen's goods were delivered and unloaded back in the day, and where sailors went ashore to express themselves in bars. Today, it's a picturesque run of colourfully-fronted historic buildings with several cafes right on the waterfront, and a great place for a stroll. Thorvaldsen's spent almost all his working life in Rome, but returned a hero to his birthplace of Copenhagen shortly before he died. Such was his celebrity and the fame of his works that the King ordered the first museum in Copenhagen to be built to house a collection of them right beside his own palace.
Lousiana is located some 40 kilometers up the coast from the centre of Copenhagen in the Danish countryside and right on the waterfront. It's a park with a museum, not a museum with a park and: an idyllic location, and a great place to have lunch if that suits you. Otherwise, we can stop off on the way there, or eat in Copenhagen. As well as its permanent collection including works by Andy Warhol, numerous Giacometti and Miro sculptures, and pictures by Francis Bacon; Lousiana hosts regular travelling exhibitions by some of the world's foremost contemporary artists and architects, such as Ai Weiwei. Once you've maxed out on art, and if you choose, we can stop for coffee at Out of Africa author Karen Blixen's House - the beans are still roasted according to her recipe and are sourced from her farm in Kenya. If you're up for it we can hop quickly further up the coast to take in Kronborg Castle - it's a shame not get a look at it while you're in the neighbourhood. Next stop is back to base - sweet dreams!
